Ya don't say!

Your garish representation of the OP’s photo is also preposterous.

LOL "Preposterous"... that's a big word

I'm glad you disagree.

And I know the difference between "revolved" & "rotated" but unlike you
I just couldn't be fagged differentiating... my word's bigger than yours... NA NA NA Narn Naahhh!

Best wishes.

Your username is offensive in the extreme, highly pejorative and crudely racist to most Aussies. Why did you choose it?

Yes, I do mind, the way I posted the image was the way I intended to have the image viewed. If I wanted the white balance other than that, I would have changed it.

You have no right to change images posted here without getting prior permission of the poster.

This is from December 27,2010 and was taken with my Canon 50D and 10-22 mm lens.

Update to this post, seems that someone on here didn't care for my rendition of the photo and took it upon himself to change the white balance of the photo.

Being a 4th generation San Franciscan, I really appreciate this shot.

I like your post. It's warm, natural, and inviting.

The other "corrected" image is cold, mechanical, and has no soul.

Ok, so you knew the right word but chose to use the wrong one?
And you couldn’t be “fagged” differentiating yet you have no problem trying to defen the indefensible. I’d think if your world was so big there would be room for big words.

You are the deluded one. The idea that the Sun “revolves” around the earth, (it can only rotate on its own axis), was a misconception and an assumption, never a rule.

People lived in caves and trees because those were the options available at the time, not because it was a rule. As man developed and learned to use tools and build we progressed.

Not taking it on yourself to edit and repost the work of others is an actual rule if this forum. I quote:
“ - Please do not edit and re-upload other people's pictures without their explicit permission. In other words, you may not open someone's topic, download an image, edit it (that includes adjusting settings, cropping, adding/removing visual elements, etc.), re-post it, and say "here is a version of your photo that I like better" unless they specifically ask for it.”

I also never said the OP’s photo was natural looking, just that yours was garish and unnatural. Although I do think the original is closer to reality.
You are the deluded one. The idea that the Sun “r... (show quote)

Superfly, you do realize that you are arguing with God's Gift to.... everything. He is always correct and never wrong....in his own mind. He thinks he is "outstanding". He is.... Out standing in his own field, or would that be outback.

You should get the photographers permission before making any unwanted changes.

Like it or not, that's the way the photographer "saw it" and that's the way he wanted it viewed. He likes yellow and you like blue. That's not right or wrong, it's different.

Alan, you bring up a very good point but it's not white balance. White balance is only part of the equation. It's also a good catch-all in situations such as this. A good part of the issue is hue contamination. This is a subject for which I created a post some time ago. Apparently, not many were either interested or grasped the point. It disappeared from the thread in a day. Anyway, that is something to consider when doing photographs such as this one, regardless of whether the photographer likes this presentation or not.

Hope you don't mind, I got the white balance closer to reality,
tweaked the light levels, got rid of the inverted keystoning (vertical perspective error)
and leveled the horizon.

Cheers,

Alan.
