This is from December 27,2010 and was taken with my Canon 50D and 10-22 mm lens.

Update to this post, seems that someone on here didn't care for my rendition of the photo and took it upon himself to change the white balance of the photo.

Kewl.

Hope you don't mind, I got the white balance closer to reality,
tweaked the light levels, got rid of the inverted keystoning (vertical perspective error)
and leveled the horizon.

Cheers,

Alan.

Yes, I do mind, the way I posted the image was the way I intended to have the image viewed. If I wanted the white balance other than that, I would have changed it.

Not only did you break the rules for this section but your results are garish and unnatural.

Sorry... didn't mean to hurt your feelings. I just wanted to be helpful.

It's very unusual that a photographer wants to have incorrect white balance.

It was a rule that the sun rotated about the Earth.

It was a rule that we live in trees, then the rule was to live in caves.

If you think the original looks natural you've deluded yourself lol.

"Garish and unatural"(sic.) is very subjective, however you are entitled to your opinion.

Honestly, the edited version looks much better than the original imho,
so what you say is just baloney to me.

You are the deluded one. The idea that the Sun “revolves” around the earth, (it can only rotate on its own axis), was a misconception and an assumption, never a rule.

People lived in caves and trees because those were the options available at the time, not because it was a rule. As man developed and learned to use tools and build we progressed.

Not taking it on yourself to edit and repost the work of others is an actual rule if this forum. I quote:
“ - Please do not edit and re-upload other people's pictures without their explicit permission. In other words, you may not open someone's topic, download an image, edit it (that includes adjusting settings, cropping, adding/removing visual elements, etc.), re-post it, and say "here is a version of your photo that I like better" unless they specifically ask for it.”

I also never said the OP’s photo was natural looking, just that yours was garish and unnatural. Although I do think the original is closer to reality.

I disagree.

In fact Galileo was incarcerated for breaking the rule that the Catholic Church set
about publishing something that contradicted their mandate... being that this planet is the centre of the
universe.

I also disagree that living in caves and trees was not a rule.

Warm wishes,

Abo

The rule was against contradicting their mandate, based on the misconception that the Sun revolved, (not rotated) around the earth.

The idea that living in caves and trees was a rule is preposterous.

Your garish representation of the OP’s photo is also preposterous.
