So because people have died in other ways that means we should do nothing to fight Covid? That is completely irrational!

What does the flag display have to do with fighting covid?
Or are you changing the subject?

Besides, I thought they were getting rid of all the memorials for bad things.

My first wife probably would have taken the vaccine if it were available,
had she survived breast cancer.

They were just trying to put things in perspective. Never heard anyone say do nothing. Sometimes fear is irrational.

You've never heard anyone say, I'm not getting a vaccine, I'm not wearing a mask?

I totally agree, just surprised that this whole discussion wasnโ€™t kicked to the attic, I got moved for much less.

I know quite a few who would have or will when it happens.

I think the discussion is taking wrong way. I am afraid now the photographers will start talking which vaccine is better, Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson and Johnson. I am a photographers and our members are also photographers. Our job is not to discuss a disease and its cure. Of course so many people die every year from Flue, Canser, Heart attacks or lot of other diseases. Moreover, Covid19 is a new disease in our time. To me, there is not any wrong thing done to put the flags in remembrance of victims of Covid19. Being photographers, we should look for the composition and other elements in photo(s) and see if the message has been conveyed in a true spirit of photography.

Fear? No. Sadness. Determination. Yes.

The afflictions you cite all deserve -and receive - serious attention. The afflictions you cite are, to some extent, self inflicted and preventable by the affected individual. Neither is person-to-person communicable. Neither has an exponential spread rate. And neither can be addressed - contained, prevented - with simple, straightforward personal action.

Stoking fear? Nonsense. I guess in your mind pandemics just donโ€™t count? You have a weird view of the world.

In my fair city, there has been at least one black on black shooting every day for quite some time. Probably more deaths from shootings than Covid. I guess they don't want to wait for the virus to do it's harm.

To counter, my wife and I have both had the Moderna vaccine, we avoid crowded places, wash our hands regularly and I am legally armed when outside our home. Can't do much more than that.
