My mom was 6 months pregnant with me when my Dad & her had to make an emergency landing in a field in Southern California. The plane my folks rented that day had a defective fuel gage. Hence, my 1st flight ended early

I was 4 years old (1950) and flew by myself (with two stewardesses and my Teddy Bear) from SF to DC on a TWA Constellation.

I was 1 year old, flew from Toronto to Vancouver to meet my grandparents in 1954.

My brother and I (I was 12) we each took a ride in a Tomahawk at our local fair...we both were hooked...we both got our private licenses and my brother went into the Air Force as a fighter pilot...he is still active.

South Central Mexico. My Dad was on an exploratory drill rig crew for Charlie Steen of Moab, Utah uranium mining fame. I was around 6 or 7 at the time.

Santa Barbara CA on a DC-3. I was probably 8 or 9. Second through 12th times C 130, C 119, C 124. I didn't land in any of them, still haven't. Made for a good pickup line, "Hold my hand I've never landed before"

I was about 10 and my family got a short ride in a private plane at a fair. The ride fare was a penny per pound of body weight. Just before we took off we could all hear the pilot discussing low oil pressure with the mechanic -- that made me nervous!

First time on a DC-3 at 10 years old. Central Airline (Now Frontier) was starting local service and giving free rides around the area. 60 years later I have 3000 hours helicopter, 10,000 fixed wing in turbo props and business jets thanks to the Army, and 1200 yours in my own Bonanza.

Pittsburg for a business conference on a 707 if I remember correctly. Took a few nice pics of clouds out the window with a Pentax Spotmatic II, my first SLR. That got stolen a couple of years later and I got an incredible deal on a Nikon F and 4 Nikkor lenses and it's been many Nikons ever since then (never considered anything else).
