I have no information, even after sending 2 emails inquiring about an estimate. Jack responded once stating "much interested" after I asked about the sent equipment and that's the last I've heard.

I've traded with adaroma before they are horrible to do business with. That's just been my dealing with them. They take sooo long to get back to you. I had to talk to several managers to get things done ....That's just my experience with them trading . However they sell excellent product ,

I know!

But you don't need to talk to several managers; you only need to talk to me!! that's why I'm here: Helen@adorama.com

I need your email address and your personal guesstimate of the conditiuon.

Did you call in before sending your gear in for evaluation? If so, you should have been given an estimate number. If you haven't got it I can probably find it from your email address - but if you don't email me: Helen@adorama.com I can't help you!!

BTW, the OP has just spoken to Jacob in our used department and I understand all has been resolved.

I dont think the term "ripped off" is fair here. WHY? You were offered a price, its up to you then, take it or leave it. Find other outlets and choose the best offer. Not rocket science is it?.

I just sent in two lenses to Adorama to be evaluated and they just got back to me. I sent in a tamron 18-200 and tamron 18-270, both practically brand new, barely used (under a year old), because I thought the pictures were a little too blurry for me, Ive never had a lens that I couldnt get at least one picture of a bird in flight that was good. These lenses didnt cut it. Adoram offers me 290.00 for the 18-270 and 40.00 for the 18-200!! Your opinions greatly appreciated. Ive never done this before, but I think theses are just a tad '?' low??

If these lenses are under a year old have Adorama return them and send them back to the manufacture for repair under the warrantee. (See Helens response.)

When you send a lens in to Adorama they run a series of tests to check the lens for problems. Did they mention they found any? Another thing, if these are not popular lenses they are going to be in their inventory longer so they are going to offer a low value. Have you looked in their used sale department to see if they have any of these lenses in stock? If they do it means they are going to offer less.

Just a few things to consider. You could also sale these lenses on Craig’s list. I prefer this to Ebay because of the fees Ebay now charges but it will take longer to sale them this way. That is the advantage of selling them to Adorama. Adorama will give you a quick sale but you get less. Ebay is a quick sale but less, Craig’s list will get you the most but it takes longer.

We don't do that; a unit can be returned to us for the first 30 days after purchase; after that, the warranty is between the customer and the manufacturer directly.

However, as I posted earlier, the OP has been in contact with the used department today and the trade has been agreed!

How long did it take for you to get a response? I sent camera, etc. to Adorama about 2 weeks ago and still have heard nothing.

We have your original estimate number, but we have no record that you actually sent your gear in - and you did not use the label that we emailed to you.

BTW, you might want to remove your personal email address from the thread; I was urging you to email me with your contact details b/c Idon't think you really want your details picked up by spammers!

For me it comes with the territory, but I wouldn't put my personal email out there......

Helen,

I guess I was not clear. I meant for him to have the lenses returned to him, then he could have sent them to the manufacture. Not have Adorama do it.

Glad it has been resolved, guess he was not being "ripped off".
