Hi all,

Just venting here about FedEx's latest screw-up. Hubby didn't want to listen, so I'll just get it all out here. (Please note that Hubby placed this order, though!)

Long story short:
April 9 - Hubby placed order with B&H late AM
April 9 late afternoon - received B&H order confirmation indicating April 14 expected delivery
April 12 - received notice that order shipped & April 14 expected delivery
April 12 - 13 - checked delivery details showing order at FedEx in Florence, NJ AM of April 13 expected delivery April 14
April 14 (this AM)- order arrived in Lewisberry, PA 5:17AM SERIOUSLY!!!!! - expected delivery STILL showing as today.

Here's the thing - the nearest FedEx hub to Florence, NJ is 27 miles south in Bellmawr, NJ. Package should then have gone the 80 miles or so from Bellmawr to my home at the southern tip of NJ. But NO - FedEx sends it from Florence, NJ 129 miles west all the way out to Lewisberry, PA in York County. Anyone want to join the pool as to when the package will finally arrive AND the route to get back here from western PA?

BTW - this is a very small package that could have come via USPS!

That's it - vent over!

Same experience with Fed"UP"FedEx! Ordered an item from California. (I live in North Dakota) Item was picked up by FedEx, moved to 3 different cities in CA. It sat for three days in the 3rd city in CA before finally moving again. Item sowed up 4 days late. (Damaged!) Shipping box was a mess. Vendor reshipped another item, that one showed up 3 days late. During that same 8 day period, I had 4 deliveries by UPS, 2 came a day early the other 2 were on time.

Too bad they didn't use UPS, service is much better and more reliable to my way of thinking.

I’ve had the same experience. I think the thing that bugs me the most is there is no refund when you have paid extra for overnight or 2-3 day delivery. And then there are shippers who ONLY use FedEx. Ok, done griping.

I just went through another Fedup episode myself - some laminate flooring for a little project, 2 boxes/30 lbs. Free delivery. From Savanah Georgia (origin point) to my home is approx 4 -5 hrs or less straight down I-95, depending on time of day, traffic/storms, etc.. Ordered Mar27, tracking was flaky from the start, never could find true evidence that it shipped, or was traveling. Called Home Depot at 2 week point (they use FEDup for most if not all). Agent spent a good deal of time, contacting FEDup, then the vendor, then both tried FEDup, nobody could come up with an answer, other than FEDup thought maybe lost. Since no one could really answer, they asked if I wanted to cancel order. I knew it was back in stock locally, so I figured I'd just go that way.

Order cancelled, money fully refunded, everyone apologized, life goes on. Yesterday, horn honks near dark, I look out as truck is leaving, two boxes are laying on my side of our gate. Hmmm, I mumble, go grab boxes..sit them on the table outside and look them over - label says shipped Mar 28, boxes and labels look flawless, like just packed....no dirt/damage/torn open/missing items, which is highly unusual for FEDup, and I had shared my horror stories form FEDUP deliveries from HD (late/lost/torn up boxes/missing items/opened and taped up/etc.) and told them they need to contract with another shipper, agent agreed, but could not remedy.

I now have extra flooring....and if they want it back, they can come get it!!!!! Still can't tell where it went or what it was doing.....

That's why I never root for Denny Hamlin (NASCAR driver of the Number 11 FedEx car) to win the race. It's a miracle that he is not cursed to get lost while on the racetrack.

I'm with your husband on this one. If the package gets lost or stolen, then you might get some sympathy. But it didn't arrive on the expected arrival date and now for some reason we should all bring out the pitch forks and storm the gates?

They used to use UPS, and it was rare to have a problem. With FedEx, it's rare NOT to have a problem. I have to say at this point, though, that the problems are with the rather bizarre routing and not with our usual delivery person. My husband is wondering if the package will go from western PA to somewhere way out west or maybe to Florida or one of the Carolinas before arriving at our house.

No, that's NOT what I was saying NOR implying. AND, I was NOT asking for sympathy - simply venting. My point was the extremely strange and circuitous route the package was taking - NOT that it was not arriving on the expected delivery date. Do yourself a everyone else a favor and work on your reading comprehension skills.

Yeah - B&H says you can request a shipper other than FedEx, but the only way I can find to do that is by paying extra. It's rare that I need something quickly & badly enough to pay extra for fast delivery.

FedEx packages route just fine down here. So again, zero compassion or sympathy, but that won't stop everyone who has any issue large or small to flame spray companies. If you don't like how they route packages, don't shop at merchants that use them.

I never told you to move down here. I just simply stated that all the carriers work well in this area.
