I've repeatedly hear that "We need to listen to the Scientist..!" I suspect that most of those here have heard that time and time again also.

So...let's take a moment and listen to the Scientist regarding two of the 'Laws of Physics'. Not just good ideas, these are LAWS. Here's two of my favorite.

The Law of Conservation of Energy is a physical law that states energy cannot be created or destroyed but may be changed from one form to another.

The Law of Conservation of Mass states that mass in an isolated system is neither created nor destroyed by chemical reactions or physical transformations. According to the law of conservation of mass, the mass of the products in a chemical reaction must equal the mass of the reactants.

Hence, there is no 'free lunch' anymore than there is 'free energy'. Even the 'greenest energy equipment' takes energy and mass to create them. The cost of the infrastructure to produce and to sustain electric cars in and of itself is massive. Nuclear energy, which is quite common in other nations and geothermal are about as close as current technology can get us to the generation of electricity on a reliable and substantial amount.

Again, even with something that may appear to be close to free energy, like solar takes other energy sources to get them from the drawing board to the rooftop including the need to make the tires for the trucks that transport them.

I'm not discouraging the march toward energy reduction or advancements in energy production in any way. I am stating that one should not be influenced by the propaganda that a New Green Deal will turn the nation, let alone the world, around in any measurable way for the scales will always remain balanced for there is nothing new created in the entire universe....it is only changed. All the mass and energy already exist.
