This is all too funny...

Those who cling to the past want to place guardians at the gate to prevent the gifted from gaining prominence... Anything which might challenge what they have for so long held dear is viewed as a threat to their fragile realities...

Bottom Line? Dean Collins nailed this decades ago...
"Beauty is in the eyes of the checkbook holder" In the end this is commercial photography...

I work primarily in the Fashion Genre... Here agency models are judged aesthetically...

Take a long hard look at yourself standing naked in front of a mirror...
Are you up to agency standards? If not then you might be better served at joining a fitness gym rather than a photography forum...

btw, I collaborate with fashion models constantly and thus have a compelling desire to showcase an amazing physique myself... one to inspiration my team members to strive likewise...

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose...

Fitness and a healthy lifestyle trump nearly all other pursuits... at least in my humble estimation...
All the best on your journey...

Well yeah!
The thing is, it's not just one thing. It's never really just one thing. This is a cultural thing.
I go to a restaurant. The waitress made coffee. Served me a cup. And three free refills.
I go to Starbucks. I have a Ba-RIST-A. I have to learn all these words. That smarmy fugly kid will switch two words around every single time. "Did you mean ..." Takes 15 minutes.
I go to the 7-11 on the way to the kids. I buy a large coffee and a Lotto. Never took me over 5 minutes.
Kids change their clothes to go to Starbucks. I'm glad I'm wearing clothes at the 7-11. Pajamas, people?
Completely different culture at Starbucks, and it leaks to the outside world.
Goto other shops, there's a lot of workers on their laptops. Goto Starbucks, there's a lot of kids- young and old- just surfing. Getting attention. Taking up space- 1 guy/girl can take up the whole table.
And the Mac folk goto Starbucks. Front and center. The PC guys seem to goto the back of Denny's, etc. Out of the way. Last time at Starbucks, suddenly three Macs are playing the same song out loud. Three sets of big knowing grins. Three sets of little nodding heads. Maybe I'm just too old.
Well yeah! br The thing is, it's not just one thin... (show quote)

Now pajamas you talking my kind of talk... we're not old just waiting for the world to catch us up.
Flares rule ..... jak

"We are all doomed I tell ee".

Now there's a pleasant though to start the day off! Yup! Photograhy is gong to hell in a hand-basket! The world will end in a nuclear holocaust, and if that doesn't happen, global warming and pollution will certainly do us all in, and PhotoShop WILL take over the word although I though it would be Microsoft and Facebook- depends which pessimist, doomsayer or conspiracy theorist you are talking to.

Well, theses are all great events so when they occur I wanna be there and guess waht I am gonna do- I'm gonna take pictures of all the fire and brimstone!

So...quit philosophizing and take a few nice pictures. When you see all those great images in the glossy magazines, don't dispose of your equipment. Why not try to figure out how they were made and try to emulate them, or beat them out!

If you really want to "bin" you gear- give it to a young, needy and deserving photograher instead!

8k and 16k frame capture will be the future of photography. Video will kill still photography, just like it killed the radio star.

Toss in a 30 year old, recently divorced swimsuit model along with that single malt whiskey and camera with a macro lens and you'll have more fun than a toddler at Chuck E Cheese.

From Page 1 "Ever since I was a kid, photography has been nothing but fun." Yes, a revelation that Jerry41 was once a child !! I never considered that! !

Coffee will never be the same either. Historically... water and ground coffee... Now what flavor, what origin which brew system. Things change but for the better is not necessarily for the better. Starbucks is a subversive perversion of boiled coffee my mom made.

I submitted a Portrait and was praised for my artistic ability. I confessed that yes, I did press the button, but the art was due to Mr. Google in his deep dream state and to Dr. Topaz for color preset adjustment. I had little to do with the "Art" Ai thought for me. The woman was recognized as a woman and altered to look like the "average" woman of the vast number of images that went into the Ai labled portrait of a woman

Jerry who lives in that small truck will soon tell the truck where to go and it will drive its self. He will say i want a photo of a waterfall and the truck will drive there and the camera mounted on the top will scan and pick the best lens extension, will perhaps take a time laps also after indexing an ND filter automatically. Jerry will only need to shovel snow during the winter to earn money to pay his friendly takeover Robotics. Then an automated sidewalk clearing system will take that task and Jerry will be "deleted" and all traces removed from the records... automatically of course. Jerry who? Never heard of him.

I think some of you are missing the OP’s point. He is talking about not “even pressing the button”-The shutter. No need for cameras any longer. He is obviously alluding to the vast amount of images available on the cloud so you don’t even have to go to Times Square to PS a photo of it or go outside to find some clouds. It is all on your computer.

As an analog photographer I am jealous of the capabilities of digital photographers but relish the simplicity of film.
