While sitting bored looking at all my photo gear I thought do I really need it .
What's it all for ?
My ego tells me yes your worth it . But then I see some Image in a glossy mag that is not just perfect, but of the eye-stinging blown mind type.
Right to the bin with this lot . Im never going to be any good with it anyway.
Whats a photo,image,picture,shapshot,portrait,print,shot anyway.
The dark side insidiously has fallen among us no one was left untouched.

DIGITAL small word but oh so vast a concept .. Why when people like Bert Monroy, can conjure up from the ethereal cosmos Times square. Without pressing a button .
Who am I to think I can portray some vision of a sunset .
Photoshop will take over the world
We are all doomed I tell ee.
That should put the feline in with the feathered friends.

I think you're right about Photoshop taking over the world. My camera club has a category for creative art. The photos in the creative art category can be heavily manipulated in Photoshop or other software. Now, people enter these heavily manipulated photos into categories that should have just minor adjustments made to them. I wish the judges at the critique nights and end of year competition would call them out on that and reject the photos.

Heavily manipulated photos should be in the creative art category. Now people in the camera club enter these photos in the regular categories.

Maybe more shooting and less pondering may help . . .

My daughter had a concept years ago when she went off to college in London - she thought that Starbucks was a conspiracy to take over the world - using coffee as a vehicle to deliver all kinds of mind and behavior altering and controlling chemicals. My question is how is Apple managing to do this without the chemicals. Or maybe they partnered with Starbucks - you do see lots of Apple devices being used by "patrons" at your typical Starbuck shop.

Hello Jaksfotos!

Who you upset with? Photography is your imagination coming to life, always have and be that way in the future, and that the raw facts. Enjoy your creativity man.

Ever since I was a kid, photography has been nothing but fun. It has been a total financial drain, with no money coming in. I could go through a bottle of Scotch every week, buy a big boat, or collect expensive art. Photography is more fun.

I agree with you jerryc41, photography is just plain fun and keeps one active mind, and body. It can be expensive, but not nearly as expensive as getting and restoring muscle cars!😏
