The chill of Arctic/Antarctic Hearts...
According to NOAA there has been little change in frequency or severity of storms since 1940.

Been to both places. My heart is still pumping strong.

I've seen several interviews with survivors who have witnessed all the rest of their families being swept out to sea. Also one very brave little girl who managed to swim a long distance to safety. But it must be a fear filled experience to see the dark clouds gathering again.
UPDATE: Humberto will miss Florida, remain a tropical storm as it passes the NW Bahamas but likely to become a hurricane possibly reaching Bermuda by Wednesday.Tropical Storm Humberto speeds up as it heads northwest, path still away from Florida
"The good news for the northern Bahama Islands is that Humberto should move away through the day. High agreement among all forecast guidance shows Humberto remaining well east of Florida this weekend as it begins to turn in a more east-northeasterly direction. Expect enhanced seas, swells and rip currents at our Atlantic beaches through the middle of next week."
Tropical storm-force winds extend out 90 miles, and its expected to pass close to the northwestern Bahamas today, which are still recovering from the devastating effects of Hurricane Dorian. The NHC said that the worst squalls and winds, though, were to the north and east, away from the islands.
After it passes the Bahamas, the storm is projected to become Hurricane Humberto by Sunday night with long-range forecasts parking within striking distance of Bermuda by late Wednesday night with 100 mph winds and 120 mph gusts.
The path this weekend keeps the storm more than 200 miles off Florida's coast with only breezy days and an inch of rain projected for the state.
A Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect for much of the Northwestern Bahamas, and expected to bring 2-4 inches with pockets of 6-inch rain to parts of the island nation, although not much storm surge threat is projected.https://www.orlandosentinel.com/weather/hurricane/os-ne-tropical-storm-humberto-forms-florida-saturday-update-20190914-2cvgeqo37bfrzlmep3zlbudrde-story.html

Actually that is fake news and a totally false narrative.
Fake news is factual reports that which you chose not to believe.

They all have been proven to be bogus and you know it but refuse to read the truth.
What about China in May of 2008. That was the absolute worse earthquake ever recorded and I believe it was something like a 9.6 or a 9.8. In Oct. 2011 A friend drove me all through the area hit and it was still in very bad shape. Schools collapse, highways destroyed, whole cities gone not to mention the thousands of lives that were lost. Sure things like this happens but as caring human beings shouldn't we help our neighbors in need??? If a fire should take everything you've worked for away don't you think your neighbors and friends would help. I know we're a country of giving and yes it has been over done but in some cases it's well deserved.
Just a thought, David

But you refuse to support your claims with reports in scientific journals or peer review articles. You rely on a political publication. I am closing this topic because it is worthless to try to have a rational discussion that is based on science rather than politics.

All your so called peer reviews are political and circular.
The origin of the current crap you believe originated in England and was blown out of the water over 10 years ago.
It was not political but legal that went after them.
Current pinheads have to make false claims and fake peer reviews to keep the funding coming.
You say peer reviews like they are some sort of religion when intelligent people know that they are just as I said circular in nature and incestuous at best to protect each other.
Like crooks covering for each other.
Some of us actually went to college and got advanced degrees and first hand saw this bogus peer review crap and how stupid most of it actually is.
Your use of peer review is a weak mind trying to impress a superior intellect that you know something while covering complete ignorance.
As some say, “Shit happens”.

What is new is the increase in both the incidence and severity of serious adverse weather events! There is no denying that.
I agree with that but the deniers won't.
One has to look at history, facts, and be familiar with “Mind Wars” by Ian McFadden to realize the fallacy of the global warming fallacy.
