Hi Folks, had the privilege of photographing this beautiful aircraft today and thought I'd share a few snap shots. Haven't had much of anything to post lately, so I sure hope you enjoy these. Also, hope everyone has a good Memorial Day holiday and thanks for stopping by.

A truly excellent set James, thank you!
Jim,
Terrific B-17 images!!
I have the photos and pilot's log, etc from a B-17 pilot over Germany. Your great photos bring his material to life.

Great Pictures.. She is a grand old Bird.. I spent too much for a ride in a B-25, But it was worth many times that.. My Hat is off to the Brave souls that crewed these Airplanes..

Lovely pictures with a great camera! bwa
Beautiful photos of an amazing machine. The amount of progress made in flight during WW-II is also amazing. Great photos posted on the right weekend. Thanks!
Thanks everyone, I am very touched by the number of nice comments. Especially on this Memorial Day Holiday weekend. Thank you all so very much, and a special thanks for all who serve or have served this country. I will never be able to repay that debt and sacrifice.

Thanks for sharing these -very nice work.
Nice series... We have the "Sentimental Journey" visiting Metro Airport north of Denver this week. What a treat to see these planes still flying!
Awesome pics! I was on I-40 near Memphis this evening, saw 4 planes. 2 medium size ( compared to todays planes) and 2 smaller behind them. Too far away to see what they were, but they had to be WW II from the attitude of the smaller planes. Newer planes just dont look like that. They were headed north....
My Dad was a pilot in these (and 24's) with the Mighty 8th during WWII. A few years back, the CAF was in town giving rides....yes, for major bank. I had booked a flight for the next day (the only one) but the pilot got sick and couldn't fly. Since they had to get to the next city, the co-pilot was to do the transit leg. They felt really bad about cancelling and decided that they'd take me on the transit for free....if I could find a way home. My gf at the time said she'd drive up to get me....3 hrs each way. So, I went and got to stand right behind my "father" for the entire flight, wearing a headset. It was really foggy at the destination and these planes don't have radar--they flew IFR with directions from the tower. Despite the very poor visibility at the field, the pilot brought her in smooth as satin. When we taxied up to the tower, gf was there to greet us decked out in a navy blue dress with white polka dots, red belt, red heels, blue had with a small veil and white gloves---just like a pin up doll. Needless to say, there was a lot of interest in getting her to pose for pix with the B-17. Those two beauties made the day for the good old boys and young boys alike!

A real beauty, so glad there are some still flying. I got to see the real "Memphis Belle" at the USAF Museum in Dayton Ohio. That was breathtaking. Thanks for sharing your photo.
