Does anybody knows why Nikon keeps promoting the D750 FX camera? This camera is around 5 years old and I would say is already obsolete what is the scoop? And by the same token the D850 which is a newer camera with the latest technology is not available anywhere? I cannot understand the logic I have the D810 trying to upgrade to the D850 but no offers anywhere
Any thoughts/input will be appreciated

B&H shows the D850 in stock and ready to ship. Good luck.

The D850 is now available but not at discount because Nikon doesn't need to. As you said the D750 is old so Nikon put in on promotion to sell it. Simple enough.
But a more interesting question is that the D610 is even older than the D750 but if you check B&H you will see they are selling it for $1500 and the D750 for $1400 and with the battery grip. How's that?

Picked up my D850 at my local Houston camera store weekend before last. They had quite a few of them on the shelf. Adorama claims they have them in stock. KEH claims limited stock, but Amazon may not have them.

That is my point what strategy are they following? You are right about the D850 they do not need to make offers.
For many years (around 20) I have bought Nikon cameras and I have never seen promoting an old gear like they are doing it this year.
the D750 is definitely a good camera but is old technology why would you buy an obsolete camera?
the only thing I can think of is that they have over production of that model and try to get rid of them? Who knows
Thanks for your comments

Perhaps the D750 has been popular enough that Nikon has kept it around because it's been a great seller. Consider that for a full frame camera, it's reasonably price and a solid performer, and despite some early issues with the shutter mechanism, it's been a solid camera for them. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I can only guess.

They have no replacement yet for the D750. They may have been concentrating on other things.

Also, if you go through threads on UHH when people ask what full frame Nikon they should buy, the D750 is still highly recommended. It may be old in digital terms, but not obsolete according to owners. At it's current price it is a bargain.

In DX cameras many still recommend the D7200 over the newer D7500.

Congratulations! Last week I called Adorama and B&H both told me to go ahead and order it but it would take within 3 to 4 weeks and they will not charge my credit card until is shipped. I decided not to do that for now; also I had look locally at George camera here in San Diego and they do not have it in stock I was told that if I wanted to order I needed to leave a $100 deposit and wait around 3 weeks to get it
Most likely I will wait until next year to get it

I’d buy a D750 of o have to return the D810 I borrowed.
Can’t imagine what they could do to improve it. Any guesses?

You never know why a manufacturer is offering specials on a certain product, but let me share a related true story from my supply chain days. A large European car maker was having trouble selling the green version of one of it's luxury cars, so they decided to offer very significant incentives to reduce inventory to a reasonable level. The marketing campaign was so successful they actually cleared their inventory. The depleted inventory triggered an emergency build cycle in manufacturing figuring it was a hot selling product and the inventory was rapidly replenished. It took them a couple of cycles before they figured out what was going on. They lost a lot of money in the process.

A ship loaded with Nikon gear must have had a good following sea. B&H, Adorama, and NikonUSA all show the D850 in stock. Also, the Z6 which wasn't supposed to ship until November 30 will start shipping in four days.

Nikon makes the Z7 and Z6 in Japan where they may suspense the production of the D5, Df and F6 to make them Z. The D850 they make in Thailand which is busy to make many of their products.

Thanks Strodav that is a good one!
Probably that is what’s going on with the D750

Because you can afford a $1500 Full Frame body, but cannot afford a $3500 product?

Be real.
