Here's my reasoning and feel free to abuse it in typical Attic "style".

Grassley has just said he will request a one week delay on the floor vote so the FBI can perform a background check into the accusations facing Kavanaugh. A few hours ago Trump called Ford's testimony "compelling" and said "she is a fine woman". He also said he will listen to the senate recommendations regarding another FBI background check. Mark Judge has just said, through his lawyer, that he will answer all FBI questions if asked (he will not invoke the 5th). Mark Judge has written a book in which some segments conflict with Kavanaugh's statements about his drinking.

I think Kavanaugh lied to Congress and he fears he will be outed by Mark Judge and that the FBI will find Ford to be "credible". Kavanaugh currently has a lifetime appointment to what is called the second highest court in the land. If Kavanaugh is found to have lied to Congress, a felony, he could lose his appointment to that court and be disgraced. Trump will ask Kavanaugh (privately) to withdraw himself from consideration - Kavanaugh will announce he is withdrawing "for the good of the country which is so divided over this issue". Trump will sorrowfully accept Kavanaugh's withdrawal, again saying what a great man the democrats have ruined and immediately nominate Judge Joan Larsen (6th Circuit Court of Appeals). She is a qualified conservative and has the great optics of being a woman nominee. I expect Trump's announcement to occur sometime Monday morning.

What you posted could well still happen, I am fed up with all the hysteria. Currently listening to "You are Not so Smart" on sound cloud. The current episode is Misremembering. I recommend you guys take a listen, it explains how screwed up brain is and how someone like Brian Williams can misremember, how someone like Dr. Ford or Judge Kavanaugh can make their claims truly believing them.

Fluffy lucked out with this, last minute, de facto, 'mother-of-all' news cycle diversions. No tariffs, no UN, no hookers, no collusion. He has enough rat cunning to see that GOP electoral odds improve by ditching the Judge.

This is a noted Harvard Psychology professor who specializes in trauma. He wrote a well regarded book about the effect of trauma on memory.

Ford's lawyer responded it was good the FBI will be investigating, but she thinks there should be no time limit to their investigation. In other words, either way - whether Kavanaugh withdraws and Trump nominates someone else (and they have 90 days to come to a vote) or the FBI delays their conclusions by a mere five weeks, the vote will happen after the mid-terms, which is what the point of all this was to begin with. Democrats get their way. Why bother to even vote in November- it doesn't matter any more. Spineless Republicans or globalist Democrats - either way, America loses.

Yes, I know that, read his book last year and it has changed my outlook on life to change. I remember my first fist fight in Jr. Highschool, it was for me traumatic and looking back at my yearbook for my opponent Joe H. I cannot find him. It is my belief that in the last 50 years my memory has replaced his name with that of a stranger. In any case I understand that things are not always as they seem and give folks a lot of leeway before calling them an idiot.
