Grassley has just said he will request a one week delay on the floor vote so the FBI can perform a background check into the accusations facing Kavanaugh. A few hours ago Trump called Ford's testimony "compelling" and said "she is a fine woman". He also said he will listen to the senate recommendations regarding another FBI background check. Mark Judge has just said, through his lawyer, that he will answer all FBI questions if asked (he will not invoke the 5th). Mark Judge has written a book in which some segments conflict with Kavanaugh's statements about his drinking.

I think Kavanaugh lied to Congress and he fears he will be outed by Mark Judge and that the FBI will find Ford to be "credible". Kavanaugh currently has a lifetime appointment to what is called the second highest court in the land. If Kavanaugh is found to have lied to Congress, a felony, he could lose his appointment to that court and be disgraced. Trump will ask Kavanaugh (privately) to withdraw himself from consideration - Kavanaugh will announce he is withdrawing "for the good of the country which is so divided over this issue". Trump will sorrowfully accept Kavanaugh's withdrawal, again saying what a great man the democrats have ruined and immediately nominate Judge Joan Larsen (6th Circuit Court of Appeals). She is a qualified conservative and has the great optics of being a woman nominee. I expect Trump's announcement to occur sometime Monday morning.

Scenario 1.
If he, Kavanaugh, is so intelligent, & he knows in his mind he did these things, as a man of the law, he must know he won't get away with it, so trying to lie his way over it will leave him with not only egg on his face, but a tarnished reputation. Very bad for such a high profile judge?

Scenario 2. If he "Is" not guilty of the allegations, why doth he protest so much, & let the courts do their job & decide who's right & who's not??
Keep it out of the public forum where it's only dividing the country even more than it is.
The hatred & nastiness in ppl on this forum, I guess can be a gauge of national opinion. Very unhealthy.
It seems so many here on this forum are judge & jury, when they have less a clue than anyone.

I recall a fight I had at a high school dance when I was 'defending the honor' of a girl friend against the cousin of one of my friends. After I put him on the ground with a punch one of his buddies cold cocked me and gave me a bad black eye. I worked at a service station and the next day the guy I put down came in to get some gas. I had my dark glasses on as did he and when we saw each other we both broke out laughing and shook hands. He and I are still in contact with each other after all these years!!
