Enloop Batteries

Here's a question for all you battery chemists, and Enloop fan boys out there. I for one am a big Enloop fan. I know its not a good thing to leave any batteries in a device for an extended period of time. However, I'm guilty of occasionally doing so. (okay, maybe more than occasionally) My question is this: Has anyone EVER had an Enloop battery leak? Enloop touts their batteries hold 70% of their charge for 5years, it seems Id be safe for 5 years anyhow. I've certainly had Alkaline batteries as well as cheapo generic rechargables leak, but the rechargables were much older NiCads. Never an Enloop Mi-Mh. So what say you? Anyone ever had one leak before?

Nope. No leaking, no issues.
And I probably 200 AA batteries at the university where I was responsible for keeping kits ready for students to check out, along with what we as staff photographers used.

Don’t know a thing about Enloop. Never had an Eneloop leak, though.

Yes I have-- Can I think say that after I looked up what in the hell a Enloop Battery is --- What got out of that was it was A Rechargeable -- Not with any Camera gear but with a flashlight

Never had an Eneloop leak. I've had other NiMH batteries leak, but I've never left an Eneloop on extended trickle charge so I don't know for sure.

But was the rechargeable you had leak an ENOOP Branded battery? As I stated earlier, I have had other brands of cheap rechargables leak, but never an Enloop Branded battery. I Feel Enloops are Miles & Miles ahead of other brands. I know charger technology has improved considerably over the years, and maybe that has something to do with battery life, I would think it does. I have some Enloops that are over 3yrs old, and seem as good as ones I just put in service. I also have a few various other brands that are erratic in their charge/discharge cycles. I toss em and replace them with Enloops whenever this happens.

Maybe that's the trick.... don't buy Enloops, and they'll never leak on you lol

They are for any device that accepts a 1.2 volt NiMH battery. That includes quite a number of cameras, speedlights, etc.

I Cant imagine what a pain it is to keep 200 AA batteries charged. I don't have enough outlets in the house to plug 50 chargers in lol

I have 12 Enloop batteries, 4 x AAA and 8 x AA, which I have used regularly for several years, they have never leaked and still hold their charge for months.
Enloop batteries may be expensive but they're worth evert penny.

There are larger capacity chargers than just 4 batteries. A few of those and a power bar, you're cooking with gas!
