Very nice series! I will have to look for the B&W images because i missed them and I am sure they give a haunted feeling. But i love how the rust looks in these color images!

Thank you, Christy! In some cases I preferred color and in others, B&W. The main building was difficult to get right in either! The wall of broken windows and the single window are two that I preferred in color.

These pictures really tell a story - well done.

Thank you, Bill! It is a sad story now but it was once a busy workplace!

Carol, overall I like the set in color also. It would be a hard choice between the two.

Thank you, Greg. I’m in the early learning stages on B&W. It’s funny but as a kid I only shot B&W and when I look back, they were pretty darn good!

Nice ones, Carol. My favorites are the last three.

Thank you, John. Those three are the ones with the rusty colors and I like them, too. I think they lost something in B&W!

The water tower and tree really caught my eye comparing B&W to Color. It definitely is quite a contrast. This was a very good study of the two PP techniques. Thanks for sharing your study, Carol.

The feeling you get is totally different from the B&W experience. I’m glad I spent the time doing these both ways and I’m glad you enjoyed them. I feel like I learned quite a bit. Some of them I re-did several times! Good thing I enjoy PP.

A few days ago, I posted a B&W series of this same location - Strawn's citrus packing house in De Leon Springs, FL. I enjoyed working on the B&W images and it was a learning experience but I decided to show a color series as well. Some of these are different shots, some are the same except for color. In some cases I prefer the color but some may have been at their best in B&W. I do know that color gives a whole different feel.

Very, very nice photos, these and the previous B&W....as with any historical sites, especially local ones, most of the funds for restoration will come from local sources if any at all. We have a local historical site, an old historic fish house on the Indian River, and its now obtaining funds locally for restoration, still a long ways to go.

Thank you Blaster. I'm glad you like these. As far as I know, there isn't much going on with this site. I'm trying to find out more. I would love to be able to photograph the insides of the buildings.

They must be managed/owned by someone or some company.....research and check/ask to see if you can photo the interiors, could possibly better to help with preservation efforts, ya never know....Cheers

Nicely done Carol. Since we see in color, these feel more natural. I'll have to take a look at the B&W before I decide which I like better, but I can see why you would consider the conversion.
