Does anyone shoot with a canon 80D. I have a canon T3 and have bout several lenses so I would like to stay with canon. I'm looking at a canon 80D but would like to hear your opinion on the camera. Is it worth spending the money 1000 US dollars. It comes with the 18-135 IS lens. I feel with the shoots I like to take I need a full frame camera but my budget sorry to say is limited.. The lenses that I have purchased are EF mount so I believe they will work. Any advice is greatly appreciated. mostly shoot wildlife and landscape however I am doing some portrait shots for people also. Thanks to all......

I started digital SLRs with a T3i which is a step up from your T3. I still have and like the T3i, but the 80D is a significant step up again. I got a refurb body from Canon last August. Comes with a 1 year warranty like a new Canon, so it's hard to go wrong. The 18-135 (either STM or USM) is a decent lens, optically better than the first version. If you can be patient to wait for a good deal on a Canon refurb I would highly recommend that combo.

I have one I use for birds with my long lens, I also have a 5DIV.
Do you live anywhere that you can buy from the Canon Store on line? From their refurbished department (same warranty as new) you can get the body only for $900.
Full Frame you can get a refurbished 6D body for $1000. I used one for over 3 years before getting my 5DIV. For landscapes and portraits the AF system will be fine but for wildlife (I did it including birds in flight.) you have to use the old pre-AF tricks.
Either camera will be a big upgrade over your T3.

You need to do some research. The 80D is APS-C, but will blow the socks off your T3.

I shoot Nikon but I do know the 80D is a considerable upgrade over the T3 in every way. They are going for around $1,000 but you should check and see if you can get a refurbished one for a lower price. The 80D is not full frame. Good luck.

80D is an APS-C crop sensor.

The 80D has a 1.6 crop factor but it is a very good camera. I own both full frame and crop sensor cameras, one of which is an 80D and I highly recommend the 80D. When I go on a photo expedition I usually carry two DSLR'S, a full frame with a short zoom and my 80D with a long zoom. I generally take more shots with the 80D and the long zoom and take advantage of its 1.6 crop factor. I also make use of its built in intervalometer quite a bit. I actually bought two 80D'S, the first one I bought on the first day they were available in the USA. The second one is a Canon factory refurbished unit I got for $850 and it was as good as new and came with a full one year Canon warranty.

Shooting Wildlife you will enjoy the "extra reach" of the 1.6 crop factor. Built in Intervalometer and Wi-Fi make the 80D a real winner!

I am a press photographer in New Jersey. I carry one camera with me and one lens. The camera is the Canon 80D and the Lens is the Tamron 18-400. Back in the day, I would have two or three camera bodies hanging from my neck and 3 or 4 lens in my bag. Modern technology has changed all that. For my line of work, it's perfect

Canon 6D full frame is currently $999 almost everywhere. I just been shopping and if you want full frame it is same price as 80D, body only.

I upgraded from the 70D, and the difference is noticeable. better video, better stills. The 'L' lenses will shine and get the body only, if you have the wide angle covered.
