For a budget, here is my Canon system; 80D( refurbished with 18-55 STM $749.00), 24mm f2.8 pancake used $90., 40mm f2.8 pancake used$100, 28-135mm F3.5 used $150., and a Tamron 70-300 VC USD used $200. . Also used Manfotto ball head tripod (retail $300+-) $175. Added B&W polarizer for $66 then added adapters to use on the pancake lens, wasabi batteries $30, cheap conklin type ND filter kits for $30. Oh I added a couple used camera bags for different outings for a total of about $75-90 total and a wireless remote from Cowboy studio $30. Finally a yongnuo flash from a Christmas present, $110. Sure, I have a few other items but this gives you an idea how to have fairly good selection of lens but not "L" Canon lens..but not the $ quality. Close yes Yup my pictures look good when I do it correctly. I like to photograph at night and so far the 80D is giving me some nice photos I have printed out 11X14 of numerous different subjects and they look good to me.
Oh I came from a T3i as well. It is a great camera but oh does the 80D make some nice photos and many options to help you as you expand your knowledge.
I would recommend going to Youtube and search for 80D vs 5D mkIV. It will very close other than low light comparison.
