I spent another minute in the studio and got these shots of the cracks. I also took another shot of my whole studio and light setup.

When I look at the lens with nothing but my eyes I can see some rainbows but I could not get them with this setup. Any suggestions---Anyone?

Chef, I’ve got a couple inputs.
First depending on the location of the damage when the lens is mounted, it may not affect the image at all. Keep in mind the lens is round and the image square. With luck the bad areas are completely cut off.

I have a lens that’s extremely dirty inside and have never bothered to clean it or have it cleaned. I’ve never been able to detect any adverse effect from the dirt.

I was using a Pentax film camera and was thinking of expanding from just the std. lens. Then it occurred to me it would be way cheaper to get a different film camera that is an EOS camera so I could use all my current AF lenses so for $125 I picked up a Canon EOS 1n. It’s a heck of a camera and uses the same lenses my DSLR uses.
