People washing and sterilizing every thing that there may touch in fear of virus make them more susceptible to catch any pathogenic virus that comes around, as a kid, I was reminded to wash my hand before meal, the rest of the day we had dirty hand, pick up cat dong from the sandbox with our hand and guess what I’m past seventhy and I’ve hardly been sick in my life

Please be advised that everyone's immune system is not the same as yours. Be grateful yours is better than most.

I was very skeptical on my first one. I had to be 'dragged, kicking all the way'. By the second day at sea, I realized it was the most amazing vacation ever. It was transatlantic, so guess what? No electronics, none. I had plenty of work I -could- do on a computer, tablet, and smart phone. But...not in the middle of the Atlantic. So I had to "relinquish" and just ... relax. A very rare experience indeed. I highly recommend it.

That is the real reason for sea going. Relaxation. You can't beat the price of lodging and meals and entertainment in hotels. Also some unique views of blue skies and blue ocean with the smell of salt air. The view can put awe into you, to see all that water and realize how small creatures we really are. My father was in the Navy and he said a unique way of looking when at sea is that you are never more than 3 miles from land. It is only under you!!!!! lol

gloves will carry the germs, same as bare hands. NO way would I ever go cruisin'!!

Those same germs are in hotels/restaurants even the high priced ones, and the other accommodations all over the world. It is your the way you handle your hygiene that counts. Yes it would be nice to have the others to be hygienic as well, but those same people are everywhere. It is not just cruisin.

I do not vomit at the Mall.NOR do I eat there.

To each his own thoughts, but others do vomit there, bring dog $hit on their shoes, not wash their hands after going to the bathroom, and many other bad habits. You don't need to eat there to get sick, it is in the air and lying on flat surfaces that one may touch, including merchandise you handle that other sick people have handled!!! We do not live in a pristine world. No disrespect to you, just stating facts of life

Being in the navy I have no desire to go back to sea.

Okay, after reading all the scuff about so many people becoming ill on cruise ships (to which I do not agree), and reading that after watching Mega Food, the episode that should cause illness, some on here to saying "the food handling should cause so much of the illness", I watched the episode twice. I noticed chiefs handling beef with bear hands, just like they do in our local fine restaurants. (Of course, they thoroughly wash their hands before hand.) But it appeared that everyone else was wearing gloves, and over all, there was no improper food handing.

So if anyone was discouraged from a cruising experience, by the bad comments on here, consider..again..the merits of the cruising experience.

Why make inane comments on hearsay. You are in no position to comment on food sanitation on cruise ships unless you are there every day. Your opinions are worthless to anyone other than yourself!

Nuff said.

By the way it is 'Bare' not 'Bear' hands.
