When is the POTUS going to Chappdick with Stormy?

BTW: Was Stormy born in USSR? Is she the connection to spygate? Did she urinate on the bed?

Gentlemen, having served in our state legislature for 14 years, (7 terms) I have a little insight on this issue. I have always said that the term limits are in the ballot box. If a candidate receives a majority of the votes he/she is elected for whatever term the office is legally obligated to.

Having said that, I must further say that term limits do not work the way you may think. Most politicians after they retire or are unelected go to work for lobbying firms there they continue what they were doing in the congress working with all their former colleagues to pass legislation that favors whoever they are working for. They are able to do that because under the term limit scenario the new folks coming into office have no idea how to run the government as all those with the institutional knowledge such as the chairmen of the committees are no longer there.

You want change elect good people and if you have people in office that are not doing their job, speak up and un-elect them. They represent you and are accountable to you. But remember, it is a majority rule, if you lose, then you have to work harder to change the office holder.

You want an eye opener, go see the new movie out "Chappiquiddick" the story behind Ted Kennedy's crash that killed a young staffer and the cover up that kept him in office for over 40 years...

Gentlemen, having served in our state legislature ... (show quote)

While you are correct on many levels- there are these considerations, Why does a successful person- but not wealthy person- spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to get a relatively low paying job? How does a well off person become very wealthy while serving in office?. Serving in congress was not supposed to be a life long career. How come the laws passed by congress do nothave to apply to the members of that congress? Yes elections are a kind of term limits but incumbents have a tremendous advantage over non incombents, mainly a great deal of party support. State representatives are much more "liable" to being "elected out of office" because they are much closer to the people they serve. Often, sometimes, next door neighbors< while members of the House and Senare are far more remote. If the president has term limits, why not members of congress?

End of corruption.

I've preached term limits for years but there is one down side --- all of a sudden we will end up with one hell of a lot more lobbyists!

Need to eliminate the lobbying by any former elected officials, plus let’s eliminate the golden retirement and insurance benefits. They earn more per year than the majority of the rest of us, let them buy their own insurance and open a 401K, and regular Soc. Sec. benefits like the rest of us.

All good ideas. Getting started to clean it up is the hard part.

Not hard at all, Tramp has got that system down already. Replace the cabinet every two weeks, that way you can be absolutely sure that nobody knows anything or has time to learn anything just as Tramp knows nothing, before the door hits them in the ass!!! LoL
