Thanks what an amazing story. What a wonderful welcome home present.

Thanks for the invitation to ask questions. I am taking you up on that.

How many shots did you shoot to get this one?

You said natural light, the shadows don't give that away nor does the high tone quality. How did the mixture of light occur?

When I enlarged the image there is the gray stopping, was that added or part of the actual photo.

quote=Robeng]Hi Toxdoc,

This was a crazy last minute photoshoot with Bella & Asia. I was in the hospital when Asia texted me because she was concerned I was hospitalized. She told me she was going to be in town with Bella and wanted to know if she could bring me anything. I told her I always wanted to photograph Bella but some how we always missed each other. I mentioned I would be discharge on the 8th. Asia told me they would be wrapping up their shoot in Oakland on the 9th, if I wanted to meet up afterwards and photograph them I could. Not shooting for over a month I jumped at the offer. So as soon as I got there, they took off with their clothes and I photograph the two of them with natural light about 1000 ISO on my Nikon D4s.

Because the lighting was a mixed of natural light and interior light there was a weird tone to the image. That's why I edited the image in B&W using Lightroom & Photoshop. This is the actual shot cropped this way. I hope this helps. Feel free to ask if you have any more questions.

Hi Steven,

On the wall shots with Bella & Asia, I shot approximately 80 images, because we were short on time (Another photographer was coming in to use the studio). I put my camera on continuous mode and shot away.
This is the first time I used this studio, I wasn't familiar with the lay out and lights. I tried to obtained keepers from the photoshoot but the lighting wasn't consistent with natural window light coming from the left and yellow light coming from the ceiling lights above. This was not the best situation. The problem was I was short on time and I was still struggling from my pneumonia.

When I came home and view the images on Lightroom I could see the problems. So I decided to edit the images in B&W to prevent the tint from showing. I also used a vignette around Bella & Asia.

I've attached an unedited image of Bella sitting next to the window to give you an idea where the natural light came from and an image of my friend Liz, I took from my old studio which had great natural light. Hope this helps in seeing the quality light on the subject.

Bella & Asia and I had dinner tonight. You will be seeing more of her in the future from me.

Hi Steven, br br On the wall shots with Bella &am... (show quote)

The one on the top looks like it was either shot with a point and shoot, or the sharpness was deliberately softened in PP to hide some detail, along with physical flaws Her left thigh has what looks to be either a birthmark, a bruise, or a varicose vein. Was that done deliberately?

Sorry to hear about your illness, it certainly did not affect your ability to capture that awesome image

This is a unedited image that I took testing for light. As you can see it not very good. I use this as an example of poor lighting.
