Congratulations as a speechmaker, you should be proud of yourself.

I can't really agree with your assesment of Obama being a lier. I think whatever he is saying is that that is the way he feels it should be but unfortunately both you and I know he doesn't have the ability to make that happen. I don't recall President Obama ever telling the illegals in general that he would grant them amnesty, that was Bush that made that statement. Obama laid down the rules for the amnesty leaving it again up to them to make it happen.

I shortened this so it doesn't get too long.

The day or day before he spoke to that group he issued an Executive Order giving "temporary" amnesty to illegals who came here a children: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/06/16/us/us-to-stop-deporting-some-illegal-immigrants.html?pagewanted=all

It was all over the news. I don't think he had anything to do with the actual writing of the Healthcare Act since nobody, including all of the whack jobs in Congress, knew what was in it until it was passed into law. You might remeber Pelosi's famous statement: " We have to pass it so we can see what is in it."

I said I wasn't totally certain I remembered it correctly. It was one of those “I didn’t know the mike was on” moments and I heard it. How exactly do I verify my own memory to your liking? I’m not a Democrat so it is unlikely I could offer any proof you would find acceptable.

However in the interest of fair play, why don’t we substitute this quote for the Pelosi one?

As can be seen in this video exclusively on the ongoodmove blog, starting at about one minute into the clip Kerry says what can only be interpreted as a threat to kill Bush:
"Maher: You could have went to New Hampshire and killed two birds with one stone."
"Kerry: Or, I could have gone to 1600 Pennsylvania and killed the real bird with one stone."
Link to the film:

http://onegoodmove.org/1gm/1gmarchive/2006/10/bill_maher_with.html

Just for good measure let’s add this one from around 2004 to the list:

“I will guarantee you that John Kerry will be president of the United States."
Nancy Pelosi

The conversation was about the hateful rhetoric being thrown by both sides. It was much worse during the Bush years and came mostly from the liberals including their leadership. Do I even have to bring up Bill Mahr referring, on television, to Michelle Bachman as a c**t?

Be careful TED, your putting your foot back in your mouth again. No need to explain to us that you are a republican the red R on your forhead is quite obvious.

He wasn't threatening anyone. It was an oblique reference to going to The White House as president if he had won. Like him or not politically, Kerry is an honorable man who served his country courageously, and is too classy to make stupid threats against a sitting president. Get real.

My God you have a thick skull. Listen to the entire video. There is nothing oblique about it.

There was nothing honorable about Kerry's service. I had a good friend who was on the boat with him in Viet Nam. If he was still alive he would confirm what I just said. The man panicked and shot a rock. The ricochet hit him in the butt. He demanded a Purple Heart for a wound that took nothing more than a common bandage. When he came back he led protests and threw that medal at the White House. He then claimed his fellow soldiers were killing babies. ALL of his claims were proven to be a product of his imagination. Kerry’s disgraceful conduct is documented history.

Your basing your opinion of Romney because you think he as you say he must have done something right based on what you thjought was a standing ovation. Perhaps you would have been better served to wath the performance in it's entirety.

I did not watch the whole thing. I'm going with what was reported on CBS news that after getting booed he got a standing ovation. Haven't heard anything about a lady from Mich. I'll look it up.

Don't misunderstand me; I'm not for either one of these guys. The real power is in Congress and that is were we need to change. The Democrats took over both the House and the Senate on Jan 3, 2007 and kept that power until the 2010 election. They have done nothing to resolve our problems. No, I really don't think it is all Obama's fault. His fault is that he is not strong enough to lead these clowns into the daylight. For that he needs to go.

Here is a thought guys; It is National Ice Cream day. Let's call a truce and all go out for an Obama Sundae.

That would be lots of whipped cream, sprinkles, and a cherry on top but no ice cream to back it up.

(I am not making a veiled racist comment here. Just trying to lighten the mood.) :)

What are you talking about? Were you too young to pay attention during his bid for the White House or just to bias to acknowledge what is recorded history? You don't remember the SWIFT boat articles in every publication from Time to the WSJ?

Ask any Viet Nam vet about Kerry. Go to your local VFW or American Legion. Those guys remember. It is hard to decide who was hated more - Kerry or Jane Fonda.

A "deadly" article regarding Obama, at the Wall Street Journal, which today is the most widely circulated newspaper in America .

Article from the Wall Street Journal - by Alan Caruba:

"I have this theory about Barack Obama. I think he's led a kind of make-believe life in which money was provided and doors were opened because at some point early on somebody or some group (George Soros anybody?) took a look at this tall, good looking, half-white, half-black, young man with an exotic African/Muslim name and concluded he could be guided toward a life in politics where his facile speaking skills could even put him in the White House.

In a very real way, he has been a young man in a very big hurry. Who else do you know has written two memoirs before the age of 45? "Dreams From My Father" was published in 1995 when he was only 34 years old. The "Audacity of Hope" followed in 2006. If, indeed, he did write them himself. There are some who think that his mentor and friend, Bill Ayers, a man who calls himself a "communist with a small 'c'" was the real author.

His political skills consisted of rarely voting on anything that might be deemed controversial. He went from a legislator in the Illinois legislature to the Senator from that state because he had the good fortune of having Mayor Daley's formidable political machine at his disposal.

He was in the U.S. Senate so briefly that his bid for the presidency was either an act of astonishing self-confidence or part of some greater game plan that had been determined before he first stepped foot in the Capital. How, many must wonder, was he selected to be a 2004 keynote speaker at the Democrat convention that nominated John Kerry when virtually no one had ever even heard of him before?

He outmaneuvered Hillary Clinton in primaries. He took Iowa by storm. A charming young man, an anomaly in the state with a very small black population, he oozed "cool" in a place where agriculture was the antithesis of cool. He dazzled the locals. And he had an army of volunteers drawn to a charisma that hid any real substance.

And then he had the great good fortune of having the Republicans select one of the most inept candidates for the presidency since Bob Dole. And then John McCain did something crazy. He picked Sarah Palin, an unknown female governor from the very distant state of Alaska . It was a ticket that was reminiscent of 1984's Walter Mondale and Geraldine Ferraro and they went down to defeat.

The mainstream political media fell in love with him. It was a schoolgirl crush with febrile commentators like Chris Mathews swooning then and now over the man. The venom directed against McCain and, in particular, Palin, was extraordinary.

Now, 3 full years into his presidency, all of those gilded years leading up to the White House have left him unprepared to be President. Left to his own instincts, he has a talent for saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. It swiftly became a joke that he could not deliver even the briefest of statements without the ever-present Tele-Prompters.

Far worse, however, is his capacity to want to "wish away" some terrible realities, not the least of which is the Islamist intention to destroy America and enslave the West. Any student of history knows how swiftly Islam initially spread. It knocked on the doors of Europe, having gained a foothold in Spain .

The great crowds that greeted him at home or on his campaign "world tour" were no substitute for having even the slightest grasp of history and the reality of a world filled with really bad people with really bad intentions.

Oddly and perhaps even inevitably, his political experience, a cakewalk, has positioned him to destroy the Democrat Party's hold on power in Congress because in the end it was never about the Party. It was always about his communist ideology, learned at an early age from family, mentors, college professors, and extreme leftist friends and colleagues.

Obama is a man who could deliver a snap judgment about a Boston police officer who arrested an "obstreperous" Harvard professor-friend, but would warn Americans against "jumping to conclusions" about a mass murderer at Fort Hood who shouted "Allahu Akbar." The absurdity of that was lost on no one. He has since compounded this by calling the Christmas bomber "an isolated extremist" only to have to admit a day or two later that he was part of an al Qaeda plot.

He is a man who could strive to close down our detention facility at Guantanamo even though those released were known to have returned to the battlefield against America . He could even instruct his Attorney General to afford the perpetrator of 9/11 a civil trial when no one else would ever even consider such an obscenity. And he is a man who could wait three days before having anything to say about the perpetrator of yet another terrorist attack on Americans and then have to elaborate on his remarks the following day because his first statement was so lame.

The pattern repeats itself. He either blames any problem on the Bush administration or he naively seeks to wish away the truth.

Knock, knock. Anyone home? Anyone there? Barack Obama exists only as the sock puppet of his handlers, of the people who have maneuvered and manufactured this pathetic individual's life.

When anyone else would quickly and easily produce a birth certificate, this man spent over a million dollars to deny access to his. Most other documents, the paper trail we all leave in our wake, have been sequestered from review. He has lived a make-believe life whose true facts remain hidden.

We laugh at the ventriloquist's dummy, but what do you do when the dummy is President of the United States .

We the people are coming!

To many people the WSJ is a right-leaning conservative publication that is owned by Rupert Murdoch. If one is to believe everything in it then it follows that one would also have to believe everything that is printed in the New York Times a left-leaning publication.

I never said his comments carried any authority other than being his. I asked whether anyone could disprove or refute his statements.
If you told me you are currently a sanitation worker, it would have no bearing on my response to your comments. Your position in life is of no concern to me with respect to your writing and opinion. Perhaps Mr. Caruba doesn’t have the best credentials for political commentary but who among us does? He is capable of making a point without using phrases like “Sit on it”.

What I do say is that many (not all) of the points he makes are valid. For example: "He outmaneuvered Hillary Clinton in primaries. He took Iowa by storm. A charming young man, an anomaly in the state with a very small black population, he oozed "cool" in a place where agriculture was the antithesis of cool. He dazzled the locals. And he had an army of volunteers drawn to a charisma that hid any real substance”. I feel this is true, while I disagree with many of Mrs. Clinton’s views I firmly believe she would have been the better choice. McCain was never a contender due to the fervor to elect the "first black president" so we have Obama shoved down our throats. Obama’s inability to speak without a teleprompter and his attempts to “wish away” major problems are something of a joke on both sides of the aisle within the beltway.

I will also suggest to you that a rumor exists that there will be an attempt at the Democrat convention to replace Obama with Clinton as the candidate. I will also suggest that if that happens the Democrats will win.

The libs on here consistently trash the person being quoted and then fail to engage in any real discussion of the claims being made.
