Well, Digitalnut, you certainly got your answer loud and clear! Enjoy your new purchase in good health.
Get the D500, and don't look back..You will not need to!! The best crop-sensor camera available from ANY manufacturer!
🖒👍
Saving up for a D500 too. A friend is trying to convince me to buy D7500 for $500 less, but no thank you. This thread helped me a lot too, it just makes me feel more confident with my decision. Thank you all for that.
Now it will take some time, but eventually it will happen unless I win the lottery and go FF.
Or you could buy 2 D7200 bodies for the price of one D500

Would appreciate opinions on getting a D7500 or a D500 refurb direct from Nikon. The Nikon sight is offering 10% off refurbed this weekend and there is a $495 difference between the two camera bodies. I am leaning toward the D500, but would like your input. Am currently using a D5500 for lacrosse and cross country meets of my grandchildren. Thanks in advance for your feedback.
I have had my D500 a little over a year. It is a GREAT camera. I vote for the D500.
The D500 gets my vote too, hands down winner.

The OP is clearly committed to Nikon, and the D500 is the best in that context. Outside that context, the answer is not as obvious as Nikon fans would like to state

If you know basic knowledge about DSLR cameras, you shouldn't have to ask that question. The D500 cost more, that alone should tell you something. Not taking anything away from the D7500 but the D500 is an all around better camera, especially for sports.
Check Adorama price on refurbished D 7500.
Exactly, the Poster didn't ask what YOU like to shoot with (obviously Pentax) but ask the difference between two specific cameras that happen to be Nikon.
I have a D500 and did not look back.
