Amazon order unfilled since early November...

One thing Amazon is very firm on is their current pricing. They will not give you a refund if the price of an item drops. I bought a Kindle on sale that turned out to be defective. After a phone call to Amazon, I returned it and ordered another. Although it should have been at the same price, they charged the non-sale price. It took several phone calls and a threat to quit Prime and leave Amazon before I got it at the sale price. The fact that I had placed so many orders (265 in 2017) didn't hurt, either.

When returning something they usually offer "Return and Replace" so that you do not have to repurchase. The replacement price shows as $00.00. I haven't had to return much, but doing it online is the easiest. You print out the prepaid return label and check off replace.

You are incorrect (not unusual). Should have been closed after the second post.
Jerry, we're probably running neck in neck on Amazon orders, lol. I have to do a cardboard run to the recycler about once a month. It looks like I'm an Amazon box vendor when I do. I am very satisfied 99% of the time with Amazon, but they do drop the ball from time to time. Now I'm stuck watching a 100" screen. ;)

Since Lexar dropped out as a supplier of XQD cards the price seems to have gone up. Last November I ordered a Sony Professional XQD G Series 128GB Memory Card that Amazon offered for $139.12 with free two day (Prime) shipping that is still back ordered. It is now listed for $217.84 + 24.95 from a different Amazon Seller. I'm beginning to wonder if Amazon is going to honor the order or keep it on back order indefinitely. B&H offers the Sony card at $189.95 with free expedited shipping.
What was their response when you quieried them on it?
You did query them, didn't you?

Lexar XQD 128GB memory cards now in stock at Amazon US (with a price drop)

B&H also has back-ordered the item; I have been waiting 6 weeks

Rongnongno, Thanks for the phone number. I just got off the phone with Customer Service who told me I can cancel the order and purchase from someone else, but Amazon doesn't have the item in stock and doesn't know when they will have it available. When I pointed out that many others now have the item in stock the lady told me that Amazon doesn't have it and I ordered it from Amazon. I knew who I ordered from before I called so this information was not helpful. It appears Amazon will continue selling a product that they don't have in stock (back ordered) and they may not be interested in completing the transaction when the back ordered item becomes generally available in the market place. The lesson I learned is to order from B&H, Adorama, your local camera store, or other reputable seller and don't be seduced by the promise of a good price and fast shipping. I placed 93 orders with Amazon (Prime) in 2017 but there will be fewer in 2018.
as I said. B&H has back-ordered mine for some time

According to B&H, "In Stock Order now to ship tomorrow Free Expedited Shipping"

Out of 93 orders, how many problems?

That's beside the point. Not filling existing orders when the product is back in stock with other vendors, and undoubtedly was available to Amazon at the same time, is the problem. Refusing to deal with the problem is the problem.

Thanks, that answers my question.

DMGILL: you gotta get back on your medications!i
Sounds like Amazon has successfully rid itself of nagging pest.
Shadenfreude!

I certainly encourage you to follow your heart. I’ve gotten to the point that if the item is being sold by a 3rd-party vendor, I’ll pass. If it is lying in one of Amazon’s warehouses, the shipping terms work. But Amazon doesn’t hold third-party vendors’ feet to the fire on their inventory & shipping, and that becomes an issue many times. We even have certain grocery items on subscription. It works quite well, but these are items in Amazon’s warehouses.
Keep in mind something . . . Amazon’s accounting systems process in excess of 150,000 sales transactions per second. I’m somewhat amazed any of us get what we order.
