Not in my case. I’m more motivated every day. Is there a chance that I get another good shot before I leave this planet? There is even if it is a very slight chance, but I always see everything half full.

I agree! We've all taken the best shot up to this point in time. But now, could we identify it, and how?
But every day we use our cameras brings another chance to take a even better pic!
But when that subject/scene presents itself, will we recognize it and take it?
OR will some of us be fiddling with our cameras on MANUAL and as the fleeting moment is gone, and it will only be left with what could have been?!

The day even a LITTLE bit of Kristie rubs off on me(I'll never be that bad!)...., please pass me the GUN!!!

If not, when do you think you will? Do you know when?
For example, I read all the time here that people have all these old cameras and like to go out and shoot with them.
I don't have a use for old cameras, only the best I can afford!
I haven't taken the best shot I'm going to take yet, and I'll be damned if it's gonna happen while I'm using some crappy old camera.
When I go out to shoot, I go out to take the BEST pics I can possibly get and treat each one like it's going to be my best ever!
So to that end, I always take out the best equipment I have!!
I certainly don't set out to take crappy pics with a Canon 20D or Nikon D70, just cause it is nostalgic for me and it still works!
So when you take the best pic you will get in your lifetime, what will you prefer to shoot it with??? Or have you already taken your best pic ever?!?! LoL

I’ve taken so many bad ones, the best has to be yet to come!

I don't know. Ansel Adams did a pretty good job with some crappy old cameras...

I have no idea, and I don't think that way. I do the best I can every time I leave the house with a camera or 2, or 3, or 4...

I can't tell you if I have taken the best photo I will ever take, but I can tell you that I sincerely hope I have already taken the worst photo that I will ever take. I have taken some awful pictures in my life :)

Electronic rabbit stopped working mid-race and the greyhounds gathered around. They would never race again.

We continue not because we took a great photo yesterday, but for the greater photo we will take tomorrow....unless we truly believe we have already taken the greatest photo we will ever take.

Gene51, how about you open it up to folks to post their best and why. (Keep your finger on the troller nuke button as people offering their best will be highly defensive ... :-)
Lets get some dialogue on actual photos...
Thoughts?

If you strive to improve, that question is rediculus, if you answered yes, maybe it’s time to get a different hobby

The best photo I have taken thus far was back in 1988 using my old film canon. It was a black and white photo I developed myself and was able to achieve exactly what I wanted in the darkroom. I’m hoping that wasn’t the best of my lifetime. I’m still trying to top it daily.

Not yet.

My best photograph may happen the next time I'm out photographing.

I'm not sure as to which camera. When I go out I usually have several with me. When I do take the best photograph I'll ever take, I'll let you know.

I certainly hope so! I'd hate to think that I have to keep trying to get a good shot. I just like to relax and shoot. What I get is what I get. I don't compete with myself because I know I would always win/lose.

I don't know how to define "the best picture I will ever take." While I have some excellent images in my collection, including a couple of award winners, there are areas of photography I haven't tried yet. My focus is on expanding my knowledge and abilities in new areas so I can have a wider range of photographic skills. Someone else will have to decide what was the best picture I ever took after I leave this life. (That assumes anyone cares.)
