Actually, I'm pretty certain that the Mk II DOES have 5 axis IS. One of the reasons I bought it a year earlier instead of the Mk I.

Really, Tax?

Not according to the description of the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mk. II in the current B&H Catalogue (pp. 124) ...

A page which also lists the Mk. III as HAVING it ... but, according to an Olympus spokesman on another site ... it DOES NOT have it ....

So, that's the reason for this post ... I am just trying to ascertain the truth of the matter ....

Can you provide me something which shows your Mk. II incorporates 5-axis IBIS?

Oh, right ... well, it doesn't happen that often ... but I do have a couple of 30x40s kicking around, Tom ....

Can be done even with the 16mp sensors.

Btw, when in Rome, act like the Romans.

If you are truly interested in user experience with the 5axis IS, ask in the mu43 forum. Since the 5 axis IS came out in the original EM5, out of all the posts I have seen, I’ve never seen a negative comment about it. What is fascinating is how Olympus has been able to improve on the original. But no matter what anyone says, there is nothing like personal experience. Why not spend a few bucks and rent the body and a lens? Be aware that the em10 is the smallest omd body and it maybe too small in general or if matched with a larger lens.

Oh, right, Tom ... but, I'm afraid ... I don't SPEAK Italian ...

Rentals require credit cards, Tom ... I have nothing but a Debit Card ...

I had not realized the EM 10 was smaller, even, than the EM 5 or EM1 ... I assumed all three were essentially the same body .... thanks for that !!!!

You know, Tom ... a couple of my DSLRs use the 16MP sensor - the Nikon D7000, and the Pentax K-50 ....

And, based on my own experience with them - I don't doubt I could blow up images shot with them to 30x40 ....

But, you know what? ... I'll never do it!

If I ever do it, again (those two were both from film cameras) I suspect, it would be from a 24mp DSLR ... of which I have six ...

Debit card is fine to rent.

Yes, even between my em1 and em5 mark2 there is a difference. The em10 is even tinier.

You need to go to a store to handle these cameras maybe? I mean you have so many cameras, do you really need another one?

I say sell them all and get one really good camera.

In any case, it has 5 axis IS

Well, in regard to the body of that camera I have no experience except with the OMD 10mark I
It has a small solid body with good feel but rather awkward replay button position. The menu system on the old Olympus cameras is rather arcane. I would recommend trying the camera out first to see if you like the feel. It's very retro but a lot of fun and the image quality is quite good

Wayne, thanks for that, and I value your suggestion, highly ....

However, the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II does not incorporate 5-axis stabilization, like the Model III, as does the EM 5 II, and the EM1 II ....

It is this most significant improvement which has caused me to look at this feature in not only these three, but, also, the Pentax K-1, and the alpha a99 II.

My next investment in digital camera technology would embrace that particular feature, and the OM-D E-M10 Mk. III - is the cheapest way to do it ....

But, before wasting $800 on it, I wish to be sure - a) it does have it ... and b) at least one person has had a good experience with it ....

According to the spec list in the Dpreview review it has 5-axis.

I doubt that, Tom ... as they need to put the whole value of the camera/lens you're renting - against the credit you have ...

When it's returned, they deduct their rental fee, and reduce down the amount charged against your card ... dig?

Yes, I do have many DSLRs ... and I'm not really sure I need another one ... but, this is why I'm investigating this potential choice ...

Actually, I haven't bought a new one since the a77 II in 2014 - when it was first released ....

All I can tell you, Tom - is it comes down to two factors, which both fit into the equation, regarding this model ...

a) decreased weight b) better IBIS ... other than those two elements... there'd be no need for this "exploration", on my part ...
