If Moore were to be elected there are two possible scenarios. One, Alabama does not certify the election. Two, the senate ousts Moore. It is possible in these scenarios that the Republicans could retain the seat. Republicans in Congress, however, have said that the distaste that comes with Moore is not worth a senate seat. I have to agree with them. There have been arguments that Moore said that these things did not happen. Stranger things have happened. Consider the Duke rape case, in which, eventually, the truth came out that the individual accusing the lacrosse players was, indeed, lying. It took years, however, for the truth to be known. It this is the case with Moore, I'm sure it will take a considerable amount of time for that truth to be known as well. IF these women are lying for political purposes, it will be a political bombshell. That is, however, a big IF. In the meantime, the integrity of our political institutions should be upheld and Moore not sent to the senate.

All in all it's too bad Trump didn't leave Sessions in Alabama.

All of your scenarios are based on Moore being guilty which is what I have been whacking the libs about.
The majority of the people have deemed him guilty with the first of the accusations which were prompted after decades of when it supposedly happened.
So the legal and moral way to handle this is to let it play out without interference and allow the justice system do what it is supposed to do.
And seeing as the statute of limitations has expired, there isn't much that can be done in that setting.

When you break it down to the lowest terms, nothing can be done against him without violating his rights.

If your daughter came forward and told you that 30 years ago she had to fight more off so he wouldn't rape her, you'd slap her on the face and tell her 30 years ago it's like it never happened and then march down and vote for Moore ?????

I've spoken about this in another thread. It's very difficult for an individual accused in the press to defend himself when the statute of limitations has expired. Take the Duke rape case. Eventually it came out that the accuser was lying, but this case had gone to court. Most of these accusations will never go to court. In all probability the accusations against Moore are true and he is tainted. As I said previously, should by some miraculous chance it become known that all of these women had concocted these stories for either some political or personal reason, it will be a bombshell. Until then, however, to send him to the Senate would be sending the wrong message to everybody about so many things.

It does make you think that Billy Graham and Mike Pence have the right idea. If a person is never alone with a woman other than his wife he can't be accused of something that didn't happen. Maybe everybody in entertainment and politics should adopt the same rule.

I happen to have been alive and aware when that stuff was going on. You probably thought Northerners should mind their own business. You will probably say that Chaney, Goodman, and Schwerner were made up, or that they were where they shouldn't have been. (not Alabama, but not really different).
