I didn't think they could back-up built-in features ... although, it would be great, if you could - on cameras, huh?
Now, of course ... Sigma has introduced this USB upgrade port in lenses ... for downloading changes in the software ....
But - cameras - on this level? ... no can do ....
Your quote - from earlier, Larry ....
"Pixel shift was first introduced on the K-3II in 2014 so there are now four Pentax cameras available with Pixel Shift the K-1, KP, K-70 and the K-3. All Pentax cameras with IBIS are sensor shift either 3 axis of 5 axis.

obviously he just left off the II when he listed the 4 cameras. Otherwise it would be 5 and that's clearly not what he meant. fyi

The Pentax K-mount, sometimes referred to as the "PK-mount", is a bayonet lens mount standard for mounting interchangeable photographic lenses to 35 mm single-lens reflex cameras. It was created by Pentax in 1975, and has since been used by all Pentax 35 mm and digital SLRs and 110mm format, as well as the MILC Pentax K-01.
I believe this would make it 42 years old, now ... 43 years old in another month ... if I did the math right ...
Well, I'm old enough that my first Pentax was screw mount and that is what I was commenting on. It also was all manual with a needle type light meter controlled by a switch on the front of the camera.
another Pentax user here started in 68 with spotmatic, have progressed to a k30 and k5iis tow.

Bought a MX when they first came out in 1976. 50mm & 300mm, 2x converter, 5fps auto winder. Still have it. Need to check and see if it still works.
This was a great small 35mm camera
I have a Pentax K-1 with a 24-70 D FA 24-70mm f/2.8ED SDM WR Lens
Have had the camera since July 2016. Just Got back from UTAH a few weeks ago - got great pictures

My first SLR was a Russian-made Zenit E - bought in London c.69 ... it had a selenium cell in the front of the prism, as the light meter. Didn't need a battery. It has a Pentax Screw Mount. Actually, I still have it. Purchased, and lost - many SLRS, since ... but that one, I still have. Amazing, huh?

Oh, I see, D ... yes, I guess that would make more sense ... going round in circles, here, with this thing .... thanks for straightening it out, D ....

Yes, amazing. I don't have a camera that old, but I do have a Canon A1 from the 70s. Still works.

What a beautiful set-up, TJ .... mind if I ask you - what did that set you back? (body AND lens, I mean) ....
Can we see a shot, or two?
Pentax is my favorite camera brand that I have never owned. I have always liked their products. I have had several friends who have owned Spotmatics. I always thought that the LX was a wonderful camera. Pentax 645, both film and digital, is also a great camera. I am glad that they are still hanging in there. I do not know why their market share is not greater. Maybe they are not as aggressive in promoting themselves as some other companies. They are proof that market share is not everything. If I ever changed camera brands, they would be near the top of my list.

I had an A1 too, Splat .... first SLR with all the modes ... Canon's SP mode, Nikon's AP mode, PLUS it had the first Program Mode .... great camera ....
Really saddened me when I lost that one .... oh, well .... mustn't still fret about it ... replaced it, later with a T70 ... still have that ....

ADM ... all of this would make sense - if Pentax did not have the two top-selling DSLRs under $750 ... (the K-S2, and the K-70, respectively - both at $600) ... it also might make sense if they did NOT have both the best-selling FF dig cam under $2000, AND the best-selling Medium Format camera (at any price) the 645Z!
So, I wouldn't weep for Pentax too much ... they seem to be hanging in there, admirably ....
Oh, BTW ... they also happen to have two of the best-selling DSLRs under a grand - the K-3 and the K-3II ....
You almost had me weeping for them ... almost, but, not quite ...
Oh, and did you notice? ... most of the folks who responded here - happen to have the K-50 (which I also have - as you can see) ....
So, don't nail the coffin shut, just yet ....
I believe it was around $3200.
I will send a few pictures in a few days... They are large.
Do you want Jpeg or RAW ???
I use the Pentax adapter. Tried a cheaper one but had nothing but problems especially removing the adapter from the camera. The Pentax adapter is expensive but works flawlessly.

Oh, I think JPEGS are good enough for here ... thanks, TJ ....
$3200, huh? ... ooooh ... so that zoom was around $1300, huh?
Still ... you have a damned fine package, there .... really neat!
