My surfer friends on the North Shore say there are only two seasons in Hawaii, surf and no surf. :) The winter brings big waves to north facing shores, so I do take a lot of big wave surfing pictures in the "winter", but they aren't what most people would think of as winter pictures.

What in the world is a mexicali, or more specifically a migrating mexicali? Is that a species of migrating whale, like a blue or sperm whale, and why would it be something you need to worry about if you live in San Diego? Patrick

San Diego is right on the border with Baja, Patrick ... the nearest town south of the San Diego area is actually CALLED Mexicali ....

Mexicans, who live on the border with California, thus, can be inferred to be - Mexicalis ... since they live - basically - in two places.

After the picture was taken the three surfers all went different directions, one left, one straight, and the other right. So I don't think there was a winner - except me.

I love the D7000. I've never used it successor, but the D7000 is great.

Oh, I agree with you, Splat ... the D7000 is a helluva camera ...

And, apparently, Nikon must have realized they goofed - upping the Res from 16 to 24 in both the D7100, and the D7200 ...

Note - they dropped it down again - to 20mp ... in the subsequent D7500 - in the series ... (and dropped out the 2nd slot!)

Which means - they goofed, yet again ... no more simultaneous saves on diff cards, of both RAW images, and JPEGS ....

Oh, well ... the old tale ... two steps forward ... three steps back ....
