Taken on recent River Cruise. Constructive critiques appreciated.
Recent meaning a few months ago, right?
Strasbourg in November does not display spring colors. Been there.
Makes me want to go there!
...August. Fairly recent.
Nice shot & great composition, to my eye.
I love the way the fence flowers curve around to contain the river bank that is trying to escape in the lower left quadrant. Great shot!!!

You should. This town has many things to offer from an active night life (noisy in some streets) to history and old architecture. It also one of the siege of the EU. Add that Strasbourg has many channel and one can have many opportunities for taking any type of image...
(Love the gargoyles in the cathedral).
I love the architectural design and the colorful flowers - very nice image!
Carefully composed and nicely exposed. It's a pleasant and very pretty scene that I think of as a "postcard" shot: a great advertisement for the region and a reflection of what was probably a happy and memorable experience for you personally.
Ultimately, though, it is very similar to many other photos of European cities (try a Google image search). It doesn't evoke a strong emotion or leave me with a sense of admiration for the photographer's "eye."
Having said that, which is strictly
personal opinion of course, please know that I have posted a huge number of photos that are neither unique nor memorable
I just wanted to interject a bit of food for thought in case it applies to your own photography goals.
I'm surprised that while Rongo was making meaningless comments about the definition of "recent," he didn't also point out that you posted to main discussion forum. Probably admin will move this topic to Photo Gallery.

Going to Nantes, France in May next year.
Might have to shelve our side trip to Spain.
Could be a good alternative.
Thanks to all for the comments.
Linda, your thoughts are particularly appreciated. As a neophyte with a camera, I am very open to suggestions that improve the way I look at the world through the lens. That is my objective in this forum.
Also learning where to post.....Thanks for that too.:-)
This could be the image that prompted somebody to coin the phrase, "Pretty as a picture".

Thanks Bill de.
And thank you for your service on this Veterans Day.
If a vacation is short, or very organized and active, you take what you get for time of day, weather and so forth. And who wouldn't want to document the beauty and "sights" for their own memories and to share?
For people who travel often (UHH users
MinnieV and
dmeyer come to mind) or have the luxury of spending a lot of time in one place, often the goal becomes finding images that are less obvious, less photographed. Repleo's recent
series of Ireland includes a close-up of laundry on a clothes line blowing in the wind. I thought that was super-creative! frjack lived in
Solvenia (
and another example is here), so he had the luxury of time (both calendar and time of day) to explore the unique.
I have my own postcard, e.g. low-hanging fruit lol, opportunities nearby: Mt Hood, Mt Rainier and Mt Adams of the Cascade Mountains in Washington State. I keep saying I'm going to search for the
different stories, but between the jaw-dropping volcano views and the delicate wildflowers, I keep forgetting
