Welcome to Day 183 :) It's a brand new month and the second half of our year long challenge. Today it's all about Birds. Any kind of birds... with or without feathers .. if it has wings .. it counts. With the possible exception of panty liners .. but we won't go there hahaha.
I am posting the list just incase anybody missed it yesterday. Here are a few of the birds I found... I look forward to seeing what y'all come up with.

Does have to do with Birds......Took several years of hard work but....This one succeeded!

PG I must say that I follow your themes religiously and have expanded my horizons by doing stuff like city pics, and white balance which I had never done before and learning so much from the group but sadly I'm not yet into birds and flowers which in my fault only, but I am being tempetd as of late.

Thanx so much for your time, your imagination and your open mindedness ... BRAVO.

I have never understood why you don't do birds?! Its a great challenge for you. Don't worry about it. Just aim your camera and shoot. Its great fun. You've got bird feeders? right? have fun.

Like Roadrunner, birds haven't been my thing but last winter I thought I should give it a serious try. And "yes" Fred Ann, it is great fun. Such characters!

As always am enjoying seeing everybody's take on the challenges. I look at them all.

Did I say you could take my photograph?

Very nice, I really like the close-up of the hawk and owl.
I was at a park the other day wanting to try capturing some birds on the wing. I put out some scraps and the gulls came in. These are some of the shots, all taken at 1/1000 f8. Some adjustments made in iphoto.

Since birds are one of my favorite subjects I had a hard time choosing which I liked best...1, 3, 4, and 7 - can't choose just one :)

Sherry...that OWL close up should be on the cover of audobon mag or National geo or somewhere...that is an excellent capture. Im not kidding..you need to research some mags and see who will give you some $$$ for it.

I got this red white and blue bird yesterday
and a couple of blue birds too

Nan, that is a great set of birds!

Liberty the Bald Eagle

Liberty is beautiful - it makes me so sad when they are injured and can't fly - that is not how life is supposed to be for them and it is just sad.

B irds, my favourite topic but I am trying to stay away from my archives and find some recent fresh pictures.
I saw a Pileated Woodpecker this morning on a hydro pole as is the one in the included picture, taken at Yard sale about a week ago.
Crows, We have lots of them but I really like this picture of one taking off from the top of our Tamarack Tree.
And a catbird, we always seem to have them hanging around our backyard at this time of year. They are attracted by our wild roses.

cool catbird, I have never seen a real one around my yard
