did you use image stabilization? If so, try turning it off. When using a tripod if it is on it confuses the camera so to speak and it fights to stabilize something that is already stabilized and you get not so crystal clear images after all.

nu uh - I read a lot - lol
These three were taken on a rush trip into the Everglades this March to test a new Pentax 55-300 f 4-5.8 DA ED lens on a Pentax K-5 camera. Love the lens and the camera. Nice tools, now to develop the photographer's eye, talent, and technique. That's why I signed onto UHH and a couple of camera clubs.
