Thanks. My thoughts are that the balloon is tied to the color of the scarf yet muted because it is in the distance. In my final version I add a bit more red to the balloon.

Interesting picture, but I agree with Watcher's balloon comment. My first thought on seeing the image was that the balloon should be an attractive, inviting color.

Thank you. It is ironically pretty much her story. I am glad it came out that way. :)

Well that is actually deliberate and part of the processing. But I can appreciate that it may not be loved by all.

THank you so much!! The writing on the top is sorta part of the series where I incorporate a collage feel to it. But your honesty and kind words are all appreciated!!

I am so tired of photos of dogs, cats and flowers. While those may be technically good they are snapshots. This photo invokes a feeling. It is art! You have done an excellent job of both capturing a mood which makes a great photo in it's self but your PP also adds value. Very well done. My only criticism is that the writing at the top. I know it is part of the message but it would be just as good without it. Keep posting.

Thanks! I hope it does as I really like to create photographic art that tells stories. But the elements of the photo such as composition,
lighting, time of day, setting and colors were all carefully orchestrated to tell the story. BUt I suppose the answer to that question lies with each individual. :)

Agree with watcher re baloon
I was onetime told that a caption enhances the picture but that a picture should stand on its own
Does this pic in your mind stand on its own without the story told
U decide

Thank you for your kind words in your first post!! I always appreciate it! And I agree..the balloon (in my opinion) needs to be tied to the scarf but muted as it is in the distance. However, I did add a little bit more of a red tone to it in my final version.

I disagree--the balloon represents a faded, disappearing, troubled past. Nothing bright would work for the rest of the photo.

Here is my final version (at least my final one today! lol). The balloon is now definitely red but still muted.

I think the brown balloon is okay. A pretty pastel balloon might not be something you let go of. Brown is not a cheery color, perhaps representing a union that was no longer a cheery situation.

I dunno'. I kind of agree with Sienna. The red to me, changes the composition as though she may want it back even though it is gone. Very thought provoking. Interesting.

Maybe what's really missing is a bi-plane?

Very nice photo. It goes so well with the story. When I got divorced, I remember doing a lot of 'looking back'.
