I have a feeling that a frame is needed to hide the sharp edges of the picture or to blur those edges.

This was taken last week with my very close friend. She is in the middle of a divorce right now and it is a tough time. I think subconsciously I ended up creating an image for her that could be interpreted as "Letting Go". I might not be done with this image. Sometimes I sleep on it and wake up not loving something I created the day before. But I thought I would post it anyway.
Thanks for looking!

I am so tired of photos of dogs, cats and flowers. While those may be technically good they are snapshots. This photo invokes a feeling. It is art! You have done an excellent job of both capturing a mood which makes a great photo in it's self but your PP also adds value. Very well done. My only criticism is that the writing at the top. I know it is part of the message but it would be just as good without it. Keep posting.

The picture invokes the imagination. Why does this balloon follow me? Why is it still here? Why can't my past just float away? Maybe there needs to be two balloons.........and on and on.

Agree with watcher re baloon
I was onetime told that a caption enhances the picture but that a picture should stand on its own
Does this pic in your mind stand on its own without the story told
U decide

I like what you've done, but don't care much for the brown balloon, maybe a light pastel blue or red or even a yellow. A color that a boy might select for a girl.

I disagree--the balloon represents a faded, disappearing, troubled past. Nothing bright would work for the rest of the photo.

Thanks! I can see that too. I personally like that she is looking back. I think it tells a different story but that is the beauty of art!!
We can all like and see different things. :)

After reading your explanation, while the imagine is lovely... I think she should be looking forward... it is just a thought.

THanks! I like her looking back for this one too. :)

I like everything about this. Capturing her looking back adds to the story very effectively I believe.

Thank you. That is very close to her story except the regrets are different. But I am glad this photo is being interpreted that way..and makes you think about the story. :)

I have always been a huge fan of your work and I really like this one.

I'll tell you what I see here. A woman moving forward but with regrets about what's left behind. I'd see that even without your explanation.

Well that is one of the greatest compliments I could ever get. You know, it is so hard to carve out your own style in a sea of so much similarities. Of course, this is not truly original as I am strongly influenced by the impressionistic style of many painters that I love.
But I suppose most art has it's influences. Thank you again!!! xo

When I saw this photo in the "newest pictures" section I thought to myself "that looks like Alissa's work, and sure enough it was. That reinforces to me that you have your own particular style and it shows. Excellent photo and PP work as usual Alissa! You keep getting better all the time!

THanks! In my final version I made the balloon slightly more red. However, it is a repeating color tied to the scarf on purpose. Yet it must be mutted and desaturated as color that is further away is always more desaturated and even cooler.
