If the earth was flat wouldn't we see all the constellations? Sure would love to see the Southern Cross from New Jersey. And my grandson could stop digging that hole to China.

Well, that's your opinion.

Are there so many stupid people out there? Well - actually, the article says only $1700 has been raised in addition to the rapper's initial $1,000. Apparently he also doesn't believe that sending satellites into space is expensive!

Boys and girls - THIS is why you should pay attention in science class!

At the risk of stirring up trouble, I reckon he's a global warming denier, & he voted for Trump.
It's obvious in his MO.

Our planet Earth is NOT round--not perfectly round, anyway-- it is what the scientist people call an "Oblate Spheriod." That means that it's NEARLY round, but flattened very slightly at the poles, preventing perfectly spherical shape. This is your useless fact for today.

Fortunately for science, rapper B.o.B is raising money to put a satellite into orbit to see if the earth is really round. As anyone can plainly see, the horizon is a straight, flat line, so how could the earth be round?

The reality is that there is no such thing as a "straight" line. The horizon is not really dead level. And the earth is not round. It is spherical and not perfectly so.

What a moron. If the earth is flat, how is that we are able to circumnavigate it with ships? What keeps the oceans from falling off into empty space? Every 24 hours the earth does a complete rotation. If it were flat, at what angle would the earth need to be in relation to our sun to view a sunrise or a sunset? If the earth is flat, exactly how thick is it?

Too much spinning will do that. I wonder if it will change shape as the spinning slows.

For what it's worth -

Would I weigh more or less at the equator than at a pole? I took a Caribbean cruise, which is closer to the equator than home and I weighed several pounds more at the end of the cruise. Proof is in the pudding!

And if it wasn't hollow, where would the Morlocks (Time Machine) live?
