IMO, you excelled on these, Vicki. Any of them would look great on a wall.

Many thanks Earl. I really appreciate your thoughtful reply and thought you might be one who would enjoy some horse shots.

I love this set! The third shot is my favorite. The way the girl is looking at her horse and the way the horse's head is turned looks like they are in conversation. Fantastic. This series I call real life shots those kind of shots are my favorite thank you for sharing.

Many thanks Al. I think that shot is my favorite as well. There's a connection between the pair that tells more of a story. The whole series with the girl and her horse didn't take much more than 5 minutes to shoot. Everything seemed to work as envisioned.

You've done a great job Vicki, the dark backgrounds make your subjects stand out.

I've always liked strong light and was pleased that I had plenty on this occasion. Still, it's a work in progress as new ideas merge out of this one.

I'm glad you enjoyed these Doddy and appreciate the time you've taken to look and comment.

Vicki, excellent photos. I love the contrast.

Thanks so much Greg. I liked the contrast, too but now am curious about how softer light would look. It's fun to experiment. Next time....

I like the contrast and the fact that the bright lighting makes the background almost disappear. Good shots!

Thank you Sue. In some of the shots, I must admit there were some light spots from open windows or a glaring barn floor that I removed in post. A dark vignette also helped to isolate subjects. I'll also admit to having fun pushing some limits.

Super series Vicki, love the dark background and the light.

Dark backgrounds work for almost any subject it seems. You and I have used them for flowers. And now I've finally been able to get some moving subjects that were somewhat willing to pose. The horse cooperated pretty well, but the dogs had a limit as to how long they'd stay put.

Thanks for taking time for this series my friend. I always enjoy your thoughtful comments.

I love all the shots of horse and rider, as well as the dogs. Excellent work my friend.

Thank you Sirius. This was the product of an inspired moment. "Stay right there!" I said as I ran to the car to grab my camera. The lens might have been a bit long for this purpose, but seemed to work well in the end. I had intended to get shots of butterflies. Who knew? No, butterflies, but this effort was more fun.

Nice ones, Vicki. I would have liked to see some fill flash in Nos. 3 and 4. Great poses.

I wondered about having some fill flash, and may try that the next time. This effort was quite spontaneous but lots of fun. Thanks for taking time to look and comment Dave. I appreciate it.

Beautiful portraits, Vicki, and with lighting to die for!

Most of our days here are filled with this kind of light. I probably would have gotten more unwanted detail of the barn interior if the light hadn't been so strong. In that sense, it was a lucky moment.

Thanks for taking time to comment on this series Donna.
