Over here on the East Coast, it has just begun. This may come as a surprise to you, but the world does not revolve around California.
It doesn't? I thought California was the center and the rest of the flat Earth spun around it like a giant surrealistic pillow LP. Huh! You learn something new every day.

You should have bought a Cloud filter!
And a reverse rain-dance filter ;)

I want a new camera. Which one should I buy?
It doesn't matter as long as it refurbished.

It's OK, I have Adobe Creative Cloud, I can fix it in post!

Definitely not a reverse rain-dance filter. We could benefit from a rain-dance or even a rain-dance filter despite last winter's pineapple express!

Not the eclipse for sure! How long do you have and what do you like to photograph? We have almost limitless opportunity in the area.
Pretty short. I will get there the afternoon of the 30th and leave on the 3rd early morning. I would stay in Corte Madera. I like to see the presidio, the bridge, the red wood trees and of course the wharf. I've been there several times but only on business so didn't have much time to see. This time is for pleasure but I don't have much time off.

OK. Presidio and the Golden Gate Bridge are fairly easy - assuming you have transport. Fort Point and surrounding area would be a good place to visit.
The wharf area, depending upon what you want, Hyde Street Pier is good - you can go there on a cable car from down town and there is an NPS run facility with restored old ships etc.
Redwood trees, Muir Woods in Marin would be good, tends to be very busy over the weekend, and parking can be hard. Getting a shuttle bus is a better idea.
Google those things and see how they work for you.
Hope you have fun.

Well I managed to get a shot of the eclipse without any filters, destroying my camera or blinding myself:
From San Francisco!
It's a good thing you used the RAW setting on that Ol' Brownie..I was able to process it a bit more. I hope you don't mind. Your image was spectacular by itself but I was able to bring out a bit more of eclipse' highlights
This is my eclipse picture.

See what happened when you have a cheap tripod.
