Thank Goodness The Eclipse Is Finally Over....
Now we can start discussing other important stuff... Such as whether or not to use "protection" filters or what's the "best camera" or the "right settings to use for....."!

Geez louise...these topics ARE IMPORTANT. really , the threads OUGHT to be archived with a searchable table of contents AND THERE OUGHT TO BE LINKS OR EASY TO FIND DIRECTIONS ON HOW TO DO THAT So that those who come late to the already thoroughly discussed topics can earn from them without upsetting anyone whose already shared their valuable knowledge.
OF course that would take effort on the part of the administration or interested members and it would probably be easier to bitch or blindly ignore the repeating topics , never doing doing anything about it like archiving them for the future newbies that will continue to appear as long as cameras exist. (And will be followed by posts on how to use the formerly existing cameras of antiquity when said cameras no longer exist either)
Streaming resources like comments of the day aren't so use full in the long run if the wisdom isn't kept and written down and fixed Somewhere that can be found.
These questions are IMPORTANT and will be forever repeated as soon as anyone new discovers the hedgehog resource.
If you don't see that coming.."take a picture of this post and re blog it every so often as a prophesy..if you don't view it as common sense"

Over here on the East Coast, it has just begun. This may come as a surprise to you, but the world does not revolve around California.

Well I managed to get a shot of the eclipse without any filters, destroying my camera or blinding myself:
From San Francisco!

As I watched the eclipse coverage on TV - "We're getting word from Idaho that they're now in full eclipse!" It kind of reminds me of Christmas eve as they're tracking Santa Claus on radar.

For some folks this is representative of the work of the devil... Weird but true.

Good shot! I will be visiting San Francisco the end of the month. What should I see?

Not the eclipse for sure! How long do you have and what do you like to photograph? We have almost limitless opportunity in the area.
