Well ... the snappy answer is ... They're too good to deliver to you. But the real answer is that the USPS is already going there, and it is cheaper for UPS/FedEx/DHL to give it to the post office. (USPS is "every address, every day) If it is marked "surepost" or "mail innovations", something like that, it's much cheaper for the shipper. (interesting fact is that the USPS delivers upwards of 20% if all FedEx/UPS items). The UPS/FedEx guys/gals are allowed something like 30-45 SECONDS per parcel (I'm told) for ground delivery. Express/OneDay, a little longer. HTH
