my experience with USPS is that they are cheaper and deliver faster.

I get those packages almost weekly and it works well for me and is more efficient for them I'm sure.

You're a good person.
At least once a day I get email from "Amazon", "Walgreens", or "EBay" with shipping notice in the title and final notice in the first line. It's pure spam so it's deleted. I'm guessing that you were supposed to answer whoever called and then when you were on the phone the caller pretending to be FEDEX would try to scam you that it was shipping due and you would give them a credit card to get your package.

But the questions from the real Fedex were amusing to read but probably frustrating to experience.

That has not been my experience and is completely false in some areas as it depends on what is shipped and where it was shipped from. We receive weekly shipments and really have no complaint with either.

Here is your quote that I responded to: "my experience with USPS is that they are cheaper and deliver faster." I simply pointed out that is not the case everywhere.

Sounds like the U.S. Post Office. I made a claim on a lens that was ruined that I had insured. After 2 years of getting the run around I gave up . Turned out to be not worth the stress. Don't buy their insurance it is worthless. I avoid the postal service as much as I can. Nothing good to say about them.

Oh that's what you responded to. I know what you responded to. I didn't like the way you responded. you say where you are it's completely false and then you say you have NO complaint with either. make up your mind.

Two separate facts in my area: USPS is not typically not faster. The service of both varies and I have no issue with the variations. It is extremely rare that UPS delivery times vary. What's the big confusion? Sounds more like you have an axe to grind with UPS.

Sounds a bit like some of my phone calls to various institutions and businesses.

I got a message from FedEx on my phone. The message was for someone else. The message said this was there third attempt to contact this person and no other attempts would be made. It gave the name of the person, the place to pick it up, and the tracking numbers. and I.D. would be required.
So I thought I would be a nice guy and call FedEx. Calling FedEx is easy talking to a real person is something else altogether. Anyway I just wanted to tell them they called the wrong number. And that this person had not received there third call. After a good twenty minutes pushing prompts, I finally got a customer service person. And I explained FedEx had called the wrong person. And they asked how do I know this person, I said I don't know who this person is. Then they asked why am I calling. I explained again, and they asked for the tracking numbers. I gave them the numbers. Then they asked were was the package shipped from. I told them I didn't know. Then they said the person would get called when the package was not picked up. Again I explained this was there third notice and they have not gotten three notices because they called me. Then they asked where is the package. And I gave them the FedEx addresse the package was ready to be picked up at. Then they asked if I knew when the package would be picked up. Once again I gave the name of the person and tracking numbers. And said call this person and hung up.
I got a message from FedEx on my phone. The messag... (show quote)

This is a typical idiot you encountered at the other end. Fed Ex is terrible and I will never knowingly use them. They do not even replace or pay for products when they damage them and when you do pursue it with them, they cheat you. Stay away from Fed Ex at all costs in my book.

Every delivery service has packages that get damaged in transit. I could tell you a story about a UPS shipment. Like most such stories, it did not have a happy ending.

Sometimes the underlying problem is the item was not properly packed.

FedEx is absolutely unprofessional and we avoid them whenever possible. We've had expensive computer equipment left at the bottom of our 1,000' lane (out of sight of the house), a package left at an ABANDONED house a quarter mile from us, and they constantly leave packages under our porch instead of by the door!!
