What a great find, James! Looks like a lot of possibilities and I like your renderings. Brought back some memories, my great-uncle had such a store. I remember being able to take stick pretzels from a big pretzel jar and sitting on the steps drinking "Chocola".

Those were such innocent days, folks trusted everyone back then. My Aunt and Uncle's parents had a roadside store with all kinds of groceries. They even made sandwiches if you wanted one at the meat counter. As a kid, my first stop was of course...the candy counter. Thanks so much for telling us your story. To bad we couldn't all send our stories someplace that would publish our stories in a book. I could spend hours reading stories of days gone by.

Nice image, James. I hope they knew to have the horse shoe with the open end up, to trap the good luck. At least that's what my grandma told me😎

Einreb92, that's what our blacksmith/wood carver friend in Canada told us, too...and ours is hanging over our door with the open end up! :)

That's the word down here also you guys, open end holds the good luck in, open end down...all the luck will spills out. However, some say with the open end down, the luck flows out of the horseshoe and into the building. Whatever the case...these folks needed a bit more luck.

Indeed they did. But you at least preserved their existence and brought it to our attention.

Har, Har, Harrrr...(that's my pirate laugh), Yep, it's me in the window. I planned that you know...(at least that's what going to say). Thanks for looking in, I'm way behind keeping up with folks on UHH. Wife's to-do list has been keeping me away.

Have a fun trip!
