Yes, it's an old building all right. But from the way it was built it could also have been a gas station. Noticing the metal roofing on it, it looks like some one went to a lot of expense to preserve it, and there is a warning sign in the window.

Yes, I believe your right, it probably was a gas station at one time. The warning sign has to do with the abuse of horses which I thought was odd till I thought about it. This store is in Coffee County Tennessee...home county of the Tennessee Walking Horse Association. Many Tennessee Walking horses were abused to make them take high steps like they do. The Association put these stickers up throughout Middle Tennessee warning against such practices.

Thanks to everyone else for stopping by. I've been a bit busy lately helping my wife clean out our RV for our trip North for the Total Eclipse. With my RA, I'm not much help...but I help where I can.

Thank you Kindly Sylivas, I ran across another local photographer who told me about this place. It's always nice to have help finding treasures from fellow photographers and friends. Wonderful to hear from you...

Hi Folks, well I've been away for awhile. Haven't had much of anything interesting to post. But, my luck has changed. I ran across this old General Store way out in the country about 50 miles south of Nashville. Looks like it's been vacant for some time. The sign above say's "Cheatum Springs General Store", I wonder if they did "Cheat-um", maybe that why they went out of business. I also noticed a horseshoe over the door. This is an old tradition that's supposed to bring good luck. Hope you enjoy my lastest find. Since the lighting was awful. Very bright and sunny, I tried my hand at processing this as an HDR to bring out the drama and detail a bit more.

Har, Har, Harrrr...(that's my pirate laugh), Yep, it's me in the window. I planned that you know...(at least that's what going to say). Thanks for looking in, I'm way behind keeping up with folks on UHH. Wife's to-do list has been keeping me away.

Looks like very nice captures of some nostalgic old buildings. Came out very well. I like them.

Great images!!!!
How many images for the HDR? or did you use an HDR plugin? The grass and leaves look just a little too green to me, but its not a deal breaker

I used 4 images spaced roughly 1/2 Ev apart and one special exposure, combined them in Photomatrix. The biggest problem was the tin roof was so bright, it kept blowing out, so
I shot one special dark exposure to try to take care of the blowout. Yes, the greens are a bit loud, I could do more processing but I'm lazy...!
