Not sure what the complaint thread is about now. I've always had great success with Nikon repair service in Melville. Been a customer since 1971. However, their call-in technical service sucked ever since they went to overseas call centers. I hated it when I heard the "tech" in the background rifling through pages in a reference manual, looking for an answer.
Glad you read a few threads before you embarrassed yourself. They put USA in Nikon USA for comical reasons.
It does sound like Nikon has offloaded their correspondence processing to a Government Agency! Let's all hope this was just a slip-up.
