I sent my D750 to Nikon for the shutter recall, and I got it back in about a week. Two days after the camera was returned, I got a letter from Nikon telling me that they had received my camera.
This is typical, Nikon letters always come later, but the information you need is available on line o you can check on your repair. I do that when I send an item in for repair

Well then, there is no question about it, you must send it back and wait for the letter telling you the camera is fixed and on its way. If you leave it as it is Nikon will never know your camera has been fixed. What a quandary for you and Nikon!

I had the same experience with Nikon when I returned my D7100 for recall work. I had it back for a week when I got the letter saying they received my camera and it was in surgery.

Only a large American corporation that be that uncoordinated and stupid.
Huh? Is Nikon an "American corporation"? That would certainly be news to me.
Nikon USA in case you are uninformed. They are the one that embarrasses Nikon every time they turn around. They are also responsible for the lousy service (it has shown signs of improving lately); reps that give bad advise and the inflated prices we are forced to pay for whenever we buy Nikon gear. You must be new to the photography world!
