Here's my entry into the Ladders, Stairs and Steps, this unique circular staircase is in the Loretto Chapel in Santa Fe, New Mexico. You don't have to look to closely to notice that the staircase has no center post to support the steps since each step is the support for the next step. And it's not just for looks either, the Chapel has a book store that sells a history of the staircase and a photo showing the entire choir standing on the steps.

Really cool,W! Beautiful spiral staircase!

I expect a lot of Hoggers have one or more images including ladders, stairs or steps, because most photographers are tempted to capture those patterns when they spot them. So step aboard and post your answer to the challenge!

Thank you for hosting RichardQ! What a fun challenge! Here are a couple of mine from this past Fall. Bell Mountain in Hiawassee, GA.

A Set of stairs some where in Merced California

Jerry, you captured an unusual structure there -- seems to resemble a fire escape but it appears to be built of wood! Or am I wrong? Anyway, you found an interesting angle for the patterns.

Just a few stairs and ladders. My knees hurt just thinking about some of them.

Katspangle, you're a better traveler than I am! The challenge of that first ladder at the start of the trail would mean the end of the trail for my 90-year-old legs. I wonder how some photographers loaded down with equipment can handle struggling up that thing? Your photo set shows you were up to that challenge. though -- and in Utah and Bali to boot! Good for you! By the way, did any strange little critters pop up out of the many crevices in those stone steps?
