Smoke a cigar while shooting. That usually keeps mosquitoes away from your hands and face area. Just make sure not to accidentally burn a hole into your camera strap.

Side benefit: It keeps most people away, too! And your spouse probably gets to enjoy your life insurance.

Do you also use your personality for birth control, Bob? 😛😈

Are any of those signs still out on the roads?

Listening in a spray bottle works great, smells good also.

Not that one! That is a John Stanfield song that he performed live. I added Burma Shave for laughs.

John was a 12-string guitarist from NC until arthritis sidelined him early in life. I recorded his first demo, and photographed his first album cover (Carolina 12-String on Philo-Fretless if you can find it). His music was pretty amazing.

Ahhh, that explains it.

I have been a mosquito magnet all my life. I tried Citronella, (didn't work) pure eucalyptus oil (didn't work and very expensive) Deep Woods Off and Cutter (stinks and it's greasy) I finally discovered something a couple weeks ago that actually works: a product made by Pic called Mosquito Coils. I bought mine at a Dollar General store for $1.00 for a package of four coils. You light them and let them burn within a few feet from you. I think they work within six or seven feet, maybe more. I do wear long pants now if I'm going to be outside late in the day or evening. I thought about rigging up a hat and wearing the burning coil on top of my head. My brother said "whatever you do, don't let anyone see you"

I have been a mosquito magnet all my life. I tried... (show quote)

They used to sell that at drive-in movie theaters in the '60s and '70s. They had a funny cartoon ad they would run before each show, along with the come-on for snack bar stuff.

The Mosquito is the Louisiana State Bird! There are so many in the gulf marshes that they are known to suffocate cattle esp. young calves because of their sheer numbers. You hear a humming sound getting louder as the sun sets over the marsh!

The local mosquitos are so big we generally use a 12-gauge on them. Altho I have a neighbor who says he prefers .50 cal. Anything smaller just annoys them.

I use my Ruger 10-22 (22 cal)Tactical with Nikon P22 scope, I like to shoot one leg at a time as pay back for giving two weeks worth of itches!

Darn! Somehow I missed that. I was at drive-in theaters almost every weekend too.

But did you ever "see" the movie? Or were you to busy?
