If you are talking about blocking someone I have no idea if both sides do it or not. I have never been blocked by anyone in my life. In my line of work everyone has either come up to me and said they have a problem with something I said or did. They were a man/woman/adult about it. I have never heard of blocking someone for anything. I did the same thing if I had a problem with someone. I would simply go up to them and say, I think we are having a personal problem and I wanted to get with you to see if we can't iron it out. I have done that with both male and female convicts when it seemed there was somewhat of a personal problem between us, more than just a convict not liking staff because we wear different uniforms. Usually it worked just fine.

I have never said Conservatives are always civil, respectful and never insult anyone. NEVER. Apparently you have not been paying attention to the Attic threads because you will notice I have on many occasions spoken to both sides questioning why people act like 6th graders in calling the other side the most foul names just because we don't agree on a political candidate. Check with your Liberal friends or Conservative enemies and they will all tell you the same thing. Even in this thread I believe I have mentioned the very same idea. So what is your beef. I treat everyone equally on this thread. Yet here you are looking for something to make out like I am approving of Conservatives calling Liberals foul names but complaining/whining about Liberals calling Conservatives foul names. Take another look my friend. You are full of the proverbial crap. Now if you want to feel insulted then you help yourself to all the insults you want. But don't come across to me saying I am one sided and don't treat people fairly.

I said I didn't call people names. Who am I insulting, Liberals? If you believe that fits you and yours then I guess it might be. It was not meant to be any insult but more of a reflection on life these days. I was talking about one person specifically. I know the person in question has called people names and others have called him names. I have not done any such thing yet he blocks me. What would you think? Do you personally block people rather than carry on discussions with them? Isn't The Attic all about opposing viewpoints? If contributors have such a thin skin maybe their doctor should prescribe, NO ATTIC, for health reasons.

thom you just don't get it my friend. Everybody is in The Attic because they generally want to comment on their political viewpoints. They, Liberal and Conservative, are not generally here to be rude and inconsiderate. The fact that some on both sides are rude and inconsiderate doesn't mean that is their reason to be here. Are you serious that you can't understand that? Politics brings out anger in some people that most other subjects do not. Because this is an online forum people can be pretty much anonymous in whatever they write about. Occasionally we see here where one person challenges the other; Come to where I live and I will knock your block off. Easily done because none of us really has any idea where the other person lives, how big the other person is, whether they are armed etc. We know nothing about each other except what we have said about ourselves on this forum. I think most people tell the truth about themselves but who knows.

But to say the reason for people being on UHH is to be rude and inconsiderate is just wrong. There are fine people here from both sides of the aisle.
