I shoot a lot of wild life and some times the shots you try to improve are the ones you don't need to improve. It is a good shot keep it as is.

Acellis, Gidgette and Kes, thank you. It was truly a lucky shot.

Thank you, also, Bkh442. Glad you liked it. It can snow in winter down to 1000 feet all through the Northern and Southern California mountains and Coastal Range. I live at 2000 feet which is generally about the snowline, so it doesn't get much deeper than about six inches, and doesn't last very long. Please look up Lake Tahoe so you can see the jewel of the Sierras. Mark Twain camped with his brother there, and wrote some beautiful descriptions. It is 100 miles around the lake.

Taff and steve40, quite an improvement on each of the photos. What did you do to accomplish that? Thanks!

I used the "Levels" in PSE 9, to bring up the blacks. Which added some depth of contrast to the image, and the "Shadow/Highlight" tool to recover some detail from the whites. And bumped the color saturation, just a hair.

Wow - Steve great job - saw your work as I was posting mine - I have a lot to learn from you.
My thoughts were more in increasing the size from 1.9"X1.0" at 390 to a printable 6"x4" - I'll they the same with your new image.

No it is not lost - you took this at a high resolution and these photos can be enlarged by a very much kept secret : in crease the smallest side by 10% and save it each time till you get the size you want or it starts to get distorted. I increased this many times in the original 3?? then cut it to 120 then to 72 for the final giving you a 6X4 rather than your 1X1.
Some times this works & sometimes it don't but that is the case in lots of PP.

As a friend was leaving my home, I saw a small herd of deer across the road in the snow. My camera always ready (but with it's 55 mm lens on for the animalss in the house) I grabbed it to take the photo. It is cropped to bring up the subjects, but there are too few pixels to get definition. I like this shot. Is there anything I can do to enhance it.

Thank you dasloaf, I'm glad you like it. That's the problem, I do, too. Didn't have time to put on my telefoto and was too far away for subject definition. Had to crop to frame it with the trees. That didn't leave many pixels, so the 6X4 I made didn't reflect what I hoped to see. With the light behind it on the computer, it looks much better than in the photo.

Thus, all the great advice and suggestions.

Hi Harvey! Both are interesting. The second one looks like it could be a contemporary greeting card. What software and how did you do that? Thanks.
