Should I be, or will other brands do this too?

Yes, it is ok to be impressed. For the price it is the best camera available on the market. Even when comparing much more expensive cameras it is still in many ways the best available camera on the market today. Only future cameras will be better.

One initial complaint was that the camera had an overheating problem after a series of minimal shots. Did you notice any overheating in your camera body? A firmware could diminish that problem. Other than the overheating, photographers have still been impressed, like you. Enjoy your new toy.

Overheating has been shown not to be an issue by many tests since. Current speculation is that the particular overheating report may have been caused by the SD card used, a slow one inappropriate to the camera. There are trolls spreading these rumours presumably in an attempt to discredit the camera.

Sorry for the confusion. I just pulled the video off the net.
I would like to have one, but don't own one at this time.

That's good news. Once they catch up on high end native E-mount lenses, they will be competitors in the professional sports photography market. Some are on the horizon.

I could not understand very well when the conversation mentioned the Nikon D500.

For $4500 it had better be impressive....and it is...one of the best, if not the BEST ML cameras currently. Runs rings around any DSLR for sure.

For those lacking the funds and/or not needing such superlative performance, the A7 series does quite nicely too.

Sony, the one and only... (LOL an old slogan they used).

Sony, the one and only. I remember that. Thanks for the post.

Running rings around DSLRs? Jesus.... Its an impressive camera from the ML side that is FINALLY getting into DSLR territory. Its best than DSLR for certain things, still DSLR is best for others. Lets try to keep the senseless unsupported fandom at bay. Sony still is failing at establishing a SYSTEM. A camera system. That is...... a whole line of lenses that provides the photographer for every prime, zoom, fast lens they need. Some improvement is made but it still years away at what Canon and Nikon currently offers. Sony also has this thing of changing models and lens mounts too frequently, and no, its not solved by making adapters. They need to establish some consistency if they really want to step up to the PRO side of things. They also need to improve....and that is to REALLY improve their customer service which just sucks and is miles away of what Canon and Nikon, with all their inherent problems, offers.

Must of these over hyped comments here come from casual, amateur "photographers", some of which are still dreaming of the camera that will make them better at this. A thing that will not happen of course. And you know what type of people I am referring too. The ones who, no matter the camera used, still just suck at it and love to lay blame on the gear for their shortcomings.

So, no doubt is a huge improvement on the camera world and I am sure Canon and Nikon are watching. I welcome any new gear that helps to further improve camera technology.

What I said is wrong? Smilies kind of dont explain anything. You come as the typical fanboy without any real arguments behind it. What I posted as been discussed in a lot of places by credible well known photographers.

Sony's Full Frame E mount cameras have been around since October of 2013.... not QUITE 4 years. Yet there are PLENTY of native E mount lenses available in EVERY focal length and EVERY price/quality range. So what if there aren't as many as Canikon; there are MORE than enough to get the job done.

https://www.sony.com/electronics/lenses/t/camera-lenses?cameramount=e-mount
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Sony_E-mount_lenses
https://www.zeiss.com/camera-lenses/us/photography.html

So you are WRONG; there are PLENTY of lenses available for E mount cameras.

What are you talking about?

Sony acquired the photoproducts division from Konica Minolta in 2006, gaining the A mount which was developed in 1985 in the process. It developed the E mount in 2010. NEITHER MOUNT HAS CHANGED SINCE IT'S INTRODUCTION.

That makes you WRONG.

Canon has excellent customer service and professional support for it's professional photographers, but consumer level CS is on the SAME level as both Nikon AND Sony.

And as LONG time Sony user, my two experiences with Sony CS have been EXCELLENT, including a lens that required major repairs and was fixed for me FREE OF CHARGE even though it WAS OUT OF WARRANTY.

Besides:

.....is on par with what professional support from the other 2 manufacturers offer.

Nope. You are just bringing on the same usual "facts" brought by the usual fanboys. What I said is what is generally has been agreed upon by a lot of people about Sony. The issue of the various mounts is recognized! Sony has created some adapters for it but its not the same as having native lenses. Take Canon for example. Crop and full frame cameras share a lot of their lenses without the need of clunky adapters. In fact every full frame lens can be used on their crop models.....all of them. Thats a system for you. Sony has failed to produce a reliable camera system but of course you will never understand that due to your pathological bias. Excellent customer service?? LOL Thats not what you find when looking at their reviews. I said it was a nice body but of course for absurd fanboys like you thats never enough. With your absurd fanboy attitude you belittle yourself.

Oh and what I said about users here that love to exaggerate? You have just confirmed it. Thank you. You are one of those that could never take a decent image no matter what gear they use and just felt called for. If the shoe fits......it did with you, right?

Nope. You are just bringing on the same usual &quo... (show quote)

And YOU, just proved CONCLUSIVELY that you are nothing more than a troll.

You question "FACTS" and dispute evidence because you either disagree with them or more likely, get your jollies by being insulting and pissing people off.

Sorry guy... but you lack credibility and your true nature is shown; your cover blown.

Troll.

One who lacks ANY credibility and LOVES to insult others for the sake of being insulting.

Troll.
